We're adding Matchmaking to the Wish List thread to acknowledge the request that has been made by many of you. You have my personal assurances that the design teams know you want it. They've seen the conversation.
My comments about using your time here to make friends and play games were an attempt to provide ideas for immediate solutions to the issue of needing people to play with. I'm not here to invalidate anyone's opinion, but I do have my own experiences with with building teams to play games together. If I could move one of you closer to taking matchmaking into your own hands, it would be worth the scorn.
As for deliberate forum censorship on the part of anyone at Bungie? I can guarantee that these things are not happening. The algorithms that sort forum topics do their own thing. The only time we influence that is when one of you is violating the code of conduct.

Deej, why haven't you posted up the latest weapon usage statistics in one of your weekly updates? Why won't you acknowledge our repeated requests for the removal of the nerf that rendered auto rifles into pea shooters?

Because he knows that he'll look like a dumb ass alongside the devs when it's 95% hand cannon usage cause of the nerf to auto rifles.

How about spreading out the opportunities for Etheric Light, DeeJ? You know, for people who have responsibilities and can't grind out 12 hours per day because school let out? Those also happen to be the people who make the money to buy your -blam!-ing game...

As someone who works 40+ hours a week, the best way is Trials of Osiris. If you can find two decent people and win 5 or 6 matches you can get one or two Etheric Light per week

You should really try to be a bit more active on the forum and actually take some of the feedback given to you into consideration rather than responding with the line of "player feedback is important to us" actions speak louder than empty words DeeJ

Going from the computer to the console and then having to type in a long name, getting it wrong, having to redo it and by the time you are done with all that, they already found someone else. If........there was a way to do that here, on the web, just pop in invites and such, that would be a great stop gap. Optional Match Making is still needed but something like this would help so much. Nothing worst than wasting time when it's not necessary. You have a group section which is great but it's just a bulletin board with no way to connect to my xbox 360. I'm a member of "Destiny X360" and there is always a bunch of people but it's a nightmare to put a team together. This is something that might help before you guys can figure out how to implement optional match making. Just an easy way to send a fire team invite on the web. [b](Boy, I'm going to feel really stupid if there's already a way to do this and I just don't know how)[/b] Oh and I wanted to add, there would have been a way to guide people to making their own groups by showing them the benefit of "team work" without forcing it on players. Optional Match Making should have been in the game from the start.

Immediate solutions would have been to finish your game before release. Not to use the excuse of this game being a big new concept and we are essentially learning as we go sorry for the inconvenience.

Honestly, DeeJ you need to go play Destiny on a PS3. LFG is a frustrating and clunky experience. Just go look at the LFG boards and search for PS3 posts. You maybe get one every 20 min. PS3 may as well have matchmaking because forming groups on LFG means you can't be picky. You have to take whoever you get or wait another 15 min minimum.

Old-gen consoles might not be able to support it Also, there are other (better IMO) options out there where you can look for people. It's not only lfg.net

The old gen consoles already do. They added it to the heroic and it's fine. No reason not too. Period.
