"Thank you", I say to the man, he doesn't seem to acknowledge it.
I find a bunk in the back and throw my bag on top then start walking over to the armory, apparently there were signs pointing to where the buildings are. Why didn't I notice those before? I walk into a wall and fall on the ground, what's wrong with me? I must be sleepy. No one seems to notice. I walk in to the armor section and pick out the standard-issue set since that's all my clearance allows me to have. Just a boring tan colored suit with a vest. Then I go over to the weapons, I pick out a M8F assault rifle, a M8-5 pistol and a knife. Shortly afterwards I went straight to my bunk without saying a word to anybody.
Woah, what was I just dreaming about? Doesn't matter, what's the time? "3:30", everybody's gonna wake up soon. Well I guess i'll just wake up now. I get off my bed, take a shower, grab my equipment, then go outside. There are guards standing outside the barracks, probably because of the attack. There's about 20 people awake. I head over to the office to find out what my next assignment will be but before I can do anything the barracks explode and everything goes silent for a moment, then I see an army of humanoid looking figures coming over a hill about 200 feet out. Suddenly bullets start flying everywhere and i'm just standing here getting shot at.
Suddenly I get this stinging pain in my arm. I look down to see that I just got shot. I finally come to my senses and run over to some cover, the pain is bad but i'm able to call for a medic. A guy with a special set of armor comes over to put a bandage over my wound, to my surprise he takes a pair of clamps then looks over at my arm. "NO NO NO!", I yell before he takes the bullet out. This pain is way worse than anything that bullet could've done. He applies alcohol then wraps on a bandage. then he peeks over the corner to shoot, then I suddenly realize that my rifle is sitting over in the middle of gunfire. "Oh no", says the medic, I look over and see a group of the aliens running towards us. We manage to kill a couple of them but they get too close so we have to fall back. A fellow soldier walks up to us and tells us to follow him. From the looks of it he wants to flank the enemy. As we're walking I see that there's a glare up in some bushes, then *blip* *blip * blip* three soldiers fall to the ground.
Me and the marine continue running, though I don't think he's as phased as I am, but I've gotta shake it off and keep going. Mostly everybody's behind cover by now but there's about eight people down, once again I've gotta shake it off or i'm gonna be down there with them. Me and the marine are here, the marine brings up a shotgun and starts shooting at a crowd of the enemy, so I bring up mine too and we're both shooting. 14. 8. 4. Their numbers start dwindling, then I see that more marines have joined in with the shooting, I guess they got the sniper. I suddenly fall to the ground and everything is darkness.
I wake up and everything is white, am I in a hospital? The light is blinding, but my eyes quickly adjust. "You awake? Wow, you took quite a beating, i'm surprised you're already awake.", there's a doctor standing across the room with a clipboard. "Where am I?", I ask, "You're in camp Drehardy.", Camp Drehardy? This is one of the bigger camps. "Do you know what happened to the camp I came from?", I asked, "No, i'm just one of the doctors here. I would go to the main office for that.", he replied, then he walked out of the room. Damn I feel like I was mauled by a bear, then I feel the back of my head and realize that there's a huge bump there. I must've got hit in the back of my head. Well I guess i'll get up. I get up and walk out of the room then i'm greeted by a soldier.
