I'm sorry but bungie has responded to this. They don't want it for top tier endgame. I'm not saying that it's right or wrong just that bungie has said that they have zero want or intentions of adding it to this game.

Not sure about classifying current content, or there lack of, as top tier, but I understand your point. Long-term, however, optional matchmaking will need to be in place if Bungie wants to maintain and perhaps increase the playerbase. Right, players are dropping like flies with this game.
-
I haven't checked it Destiny tracker in a while so I can't agree or disagree to that. Can you provide a direct link to support your claim please?
-
Just look at your playlist. People I've known personally and have famed with for years have seen this trend first hand. Got to your local Gamestop. There are too many copies of this game on the shelves than I could count.
-
I'm not saying you're wrong bud and yes I have seen a decline in players on my friends list playing Destiny but that isn't a accurate way to measure your claim. Just because your friends aren't playing doesn't mean there is a overall decline. The sample group is too small (100 friends, 200 if you count both of us). I'm not disputing your claim but rather saying it would carry more weight if you backed it with a credible source.
-
I am quite familiar with statistical analysis. The decline itself may not be statistically significant given that many already purchased the DLC. So Bungie mentions that there are 6 million accounts. However, they never report, at any given time, to the numbers of active players. The declining trend may not be steep, bit it will likely not turn around until there is effective in-game storyline content and player choice.
-
Though I do want to thank you for a mature and respectful conversation. Those are hard to come by on here at times.
-
I am confident this game will only get better in time. This first iteration may be "testing the waters" to improve future installments. Many are simply disappointed with what we current have with Destiny given initial hype.
-
Last time I checked which was prior to HoW almost 4 million players were signing in daily. Whether or not that's an incline/decline I'm not sure but I know the information is out there. I'm not at a point I can do that sight a source but maybe later today I'll do that.

Edited by Floodgates: 5/30/2015 7:31:10 PMYea they have spoken out about it and said no. But honestly they have no right to make that decision and I will tell you why. We buy the game with our money and they get that money in the form of payroll. In which they take that money and support there family's. We basically put food on the table for them. We are a community and if the community has enough of this "Dictatorship" attitude they have then guess what happens? They lose that support. They lose income. And eventually the game dies off. Then what? Do you think they will stand by their decisions then? No if they notice the slightest decline in sales, whether it be game or DLC they will make corrections. They are playing hard ball with us. Just like buying a vehicle on a car lot. They tell you what they will take and then you make a counter offer. They normally decline but when you decide to walk away from the sale they instantly reconsider. It's business man. You need to understand how business works. They can say whatever they want but like I said the community has the real power over their success.
-
I'm not saying I don't agree with you but they do have the right to do as they please. We all agreed to the terms of use. You don't own this game, they do. You purchased a copy and the licences to play it. Yes though the only way to invoke the change you're looking for is to effect there wallets and that takes a large collective of people to which at this point they've made their money back and then some so what incentive can you provide to make them change options in this game. More than likely zero so sights need to be set on other titles they produce so prove they need to listen to the community.
-
Edited by Floodgates: 5/30/2015 7:50:40 PMTrue, and I'm not trying to argue. I was just making a statement. We all agreed to terms yes. But they have changed the terms several times. And it doesn't matter what terms are in place. What matters is the sales. If they don't receive the sales they are dead in the water. And do you think people will continue to pay for DLC they can't fully play? DLC that keeps getting smaller? They restrict the DLC. Trust me my friend they are on a road to failure. I like the game and wish it well. It's the only game I play. But I will not continue to add to this money pit unless changes are made in the future. I will see how this game goes with Comet. But if I see no corrections there is no reason to keep playing. And trust me most of the community already feel that way. This is nothing new or a whining rant. It's the ugly truth. No one wants to continue to pay for a game that is still in Beta it seems. For example: if I was renting a house that was falling apart. And I kept inquiring to the landlord to fix the problems but they ignored me or refused I would eventually seek legal action or find a way to move out and the landlord would lose in the end. No tenant no money. You see this is how business works. They have no power. They only think they do. Just like the government thinks they control us. The only reason they do is because we allow it. But in all reality it's "we the people" and they know that. I could continue to try to explain but there is no need. In the end I'm only addressing this issue bc I don't want to see Destiny fail. I love the game. It has problems and big ones at that. But if there is no change the community will disperse. You understand? We have to try and force a fix to save the game.

I understand and applaud the attempt to invoke this change and i agree with most of what I read(not trying to be a dick but it's difficult to read that wall on a phone so I skimmed it. Please attempt paragraphs because you make some valid points, it's just very hard to read it all crammed up). Destiny is a great game and I don't want to see it fail either. I guess my reasoning for even replying to this post is this. I come to the forums because: 1. There is a lot of valid and righteous information here(granted yes there is a lot of trash too) that I know I learn things from and hope others do as well. 2. I try to pass on and assist other players with information, advice and help(what little I can provide on such a large platform). I think it's great that a large portion of the community is banding together with a single thought in mind but the forums are flooded with so many different posts(a lot saying almost the same thing) about optional matchmaking. All I'm saying is it would be great and maybe more effective if the community could stop making a new post about this 50 times a day and just keep bumping (& replying on) a particular thread they like. That way bungie sees just a couple threads that have thousands if not millions of replies and bumps. A large portion of the community is missing out of vital information because it gets buried under a constant stream of matchmaking posts. To which bungie isn't being hurt, newer less informed players are.

Edited by Floodgates: 5/30/2015 8:26:42 PMThanks for your reply and I agree with you. Sorry for the long post. I have never been that good at English or writing to be honest lol but I will take what you said into consideration. and try to improve on my writing skills. I know it can be frustrating reading my posts. I guess the whole reason I get on here and fight for change everyday in and out is because I'm actually fighting to keep the game alive. It has been my go to game since it came out. I know it's potential but see it going no where right now. Just let down after let down. Some forgivable and some not so much. But all in all I want to see destiny be the best it can be. Destiny is my source of entertainment. I invested money and time into this game. It's a form of stress relief and keeps me busy. I work 5 days 12 hours a day during the week so when I get home and not spending time with the family I enjoy getting on destiny and getting away from the everyday grind of life. It's my escape from everything. I just think Bungie is making poor decisions that will eventually push the community away and in return end the legacy of destiny. So I fight and push for the community, the game, and my source of entertainment. This game has gotten poor reviews after poor reviews. Everywhere is just giving it a bad name and it keeps getting worse after each DLC release. Maybe I'm just wasting my time. But after spending my money and time on this it's worth a fight. Thanks for the conversation my friend have a good day.

I read it all this time(thank you for not taking my recommendation in a negative light and thank you for taking it in to account) I agree with everything you wrote in this post and I wish you luck in your fight.
-
where is your source?
-
Here you go bud. Not the weekly update I referred to but has quotes from developers
-
thank you, but it only answers some of the questions
-
I wasn't trying to answer multiple questions. I stated that bungie has zero intentions or desires to add matchmaking to endgame content to which I provided a credible source to when requested. Not trying to argue just pointing out my statements are valid. Best of luck
-
and I said thank you
-
Yes you did. My apologies for not reciprocating that. Thank you sir and you're welcome.

It was in an weekly post from deej months ago. I'd provide a link but it's since been buried but I promise you it's been stated.
