Everyone will vote America because they live there. And they only own one country, so it's not really an empire.

All of Rome was apart of Rome so what are you saying?
-
The British empire (which you missed out, even though it was the world's largest empire) owned 1/3 of the world at one point, yet they still classified each country they owned as an individual country and did not call their whole empire Britain. America is classified as a single country. Its government does not rule or own any country except America. That means it is just a country and not an empire.

But we have territories in oceans yeah I mean islamds
-
So does France. So does Australia. So does Portugal. So does Spain. So does Columbia. Even Britain still has a few. But I don't see any of those on the list.
-
But but none are as rich as we are

Edited by ISHALLNOTBEBEAT: 5/30/2015 7:20:42 PMBut it's still not an empire. Also, why did you miss out the British empire? Also WTF are you talking about, I thought you were £18bn in debt?
-
No owning1/3 is impossible and too hard
-
Look it up. They owned about 30% of earth's landmass at one point. They owned: America Parts of South America Australia India Most of Africa Canada Alaska A bunch of islands New Zealand Philippines New Guinea Borneo And possibly more.
-
But they did little good for them
-
They did plenty of good, they were hard times in those days and while the british empires methods were questionable they still brought stability to otherwise chaotic regions
-
But that doesn't stop it being the largest empire this world has ever seen.
-
Size doesn't mater what you do is what matters
-
Exploring most of the known world is a big thing that they did.
-
Not nesseraly
-
How so?
-
The chinese did a lot of exploration they were not the first
-
You just hate the British empire and are coming up with any excuse to discredit it as an empire, aren't you? They explored most of Africa, colonised America and discovered Australia and New Zealand. Modern America might not even be here right now if they hadn't colonised it.
