edit: Additional Matchmaking Options has been added to the wish list, this could be good or bad since it does not say optional or for all activities but it is a step forward.
Dear Bungie
please respond not with a philosophy respond honestly.
why are you not responding to the request for optional matchmaking, we want a nice clear answer with no crap philosophy?
why must we go off a console game to make a clan/group/fireteam on a PC when it should already be supported in the game?
why is all of your Matchmaking mandatory and not optional?
why is Optional Matchmaking a bad thing?
why does the End game content have to be for only the elitist?
why is there no Social chat in the Social spaces?
where is the EPIC story in the game?
why do we have to do so much out of the game?
lastly
what is with all these weak philosophy that do not support the game?

Plus one, what's the harm if its optional? The other people on the other side of the fence act as if its going to effect or hurt them. You do you and use LFG. I'm happy with the risk of matchmaking.[/quote]
and here is one for YOU fellow Guardians:
If Bungie announced that a optional matchmaking or LFG system was coming with Destiny's fourth expansion, would you continue to support the game regardless of its price?
simple questions, just waiting for answers
we're all here, not to bust Bungie's balls (Marty did that already), but because we all love this game (or the 2013 game that we all remember and loved).

If you believe it is fair that we deserve to not only get answers on these and other player concerns and that the community should have actual interaction with Bungie on these forums instead of the "we're listening" crap we get, please tell Bungie we're tired of them sabotaging this great game and don't log in on Bungie Day 7/7 https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/135518803/0/0

We can at least dream of a more accessible game. Unfortunately Bungie will never do this.
-
Here's the deal my friend. I agree with you completely and have been asking for this many times over the last year. Unfortunately it won't happen. Bungie has made this clear in an official statement. They say that finding your own fireteam outside the game is part of the games "challenge". This is clearly a bullshit response that really means to say, "we know if we provided easy access to endgame material via in game matchmaking, everybody would complete everything in our game too quickly and be bored and not play... So we will make it a hassle for you to actually find a team so you will stick around longer in hopes to eventually play for the best stuff." This is their cop out way to make the game more difficult. Sadly, Matchmaking for endgame rewards won't ever happen.

They saod no. And i agree
-
Who cares if it's optional, it's not gonna happen

At current, our philosophy about endgame content is that part of the challenge includes forming up a team. This is a strong community filled with players who are looking for teammates. Why not seek each other out here and band together?

Bump for sure

Bump. The "unlocking"-path looks pretty nifty =)

Ha! I never got to see the original post, but glad I found this one ... So a Bump!

Bump. I wouldn't expect much at this point. Their philosophy has been communicated. But I applaud the efforts.

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 6/30/2015 1:33:56 PMBump. Will probably amount to nothing though. I can't tell if their "philosophy" is stubbornness at this point, or the epitome of misguided good intentions. That being said, here is some more philosophy. Optional means people don't have to do it. It affects only those that choose to do it. It's that simple.
