edit: Additional Matchmaking Options has been added to the wish list, this could be good or bad since it does not say optional or for all activities but it is a step forward.
Dear Bungie
please respond not with a philosophy respond honestly.
why are you not responding to the request for optional matchmaking, we want a nice clear answer with no crap philosophy?
why must we go off a console game to make a clan/group/fireteam on a PC when it should already be supported in the game?
why is all of your Matchmaking mandatory and not optional?
why is Optional Matchmaking a bad thing?
why does the End game content have to be for only the elitist?
why is there no Social chat in the Social spaces?
where is the EPIC story in the game?
why do we have to do so much out of the game?
lastly
what is with all these weak philosophy that do not support the game?

Plus one, what's the harm if its optional? The other people on the other side of the fence act as if its going to effect or hurt them. You do you and use LFG. I'm happy with the risk of matchmaking.[/quote]
and here is one for YOU fellow Guardians:
If Bungie announced that a optional matchmaking or LFG system was coming with Destiny's fourth expansion, would you continue to support the game regardless of its price?
simple questions, just waiting for answers
we're all here, not to bust Bungie's balls (Marty did that already), but because we all love this game (or the 2013 game that we all remember and loved).

Bump it again. This would be a great help for those who want to enjoy the game as you have time to play it, not scouring the internet for guardians to play with.

It's quite obvious that those who have time to cultivate online relationships would rather keep the Raids and Nightfall's something that is exclusive to them and not the rest of us who work 40 hours a week and have a family. If I was a loner who lived online, I would probably relish in having a loadout only 10% of users had as well. The problem is, success in a game should not be based on ones time spent cultivating online relationships. I play with two very cool guys and we do a lot of Nightfalls and an occassional raids but it's hard to all be on at the same time. There are times, when no-one is on, and I have an hour to kill. By the time I post on a forum, or run around messaging people, 30 minutes has passed then a Nightfall or POE is pretty much a done deal in achieving. Fact, you will perform better with people you raid with often. That said, not having Matchmaking for these activities is a little elitist and doesn't really end up reflecting high level as good player. More realisticly it means, high level = social player. As a marketer, and as a programmer I don't really see the benefit of keeping the Raids and Nightfalls out of matchmaking. If you're trying to add an elite level to the game, this can be done without requiring online relationships. Just make the missions extremely difficult! Completing them would therefore be a badge of honor. Lastly, I can't help but remembering gamespy everytime I go to a forum to find raid groups etc. This is 2015. Why am I using an inferior GameSpy. It's hilarious really. For those of you too young, GameSpy was a program that matchmaked players for online games such as Quake, Tribes, etc. It was writted in 1996!!

theres no need for optional matchmaking... what is needed however is a better IN-GAME social mechanism so players can match make themselves...
-
They nerf gjallarhorn because of people on lfg not letting non gjallarhorn owners play, but it wouldn't be a problem if the game had matchmaking on end game content
-
We need matchmaking like we need free health care or gun control
-
NOOOOOOOOO MATCHMAKING!!!!

Bump!!

Bump.

I think this needs a bump

NO matchmaking would suck horse balls! Think of all the noobs with no skill trying to hitch a ride and beat a raid with all those who don't always have a fire team ready! It would make me rip my hair at so again... HECK TO THE NO
-
I'm not trying to be a jerk but they've already responded to this, and the community wonders why that Bungie is so tightlipped about certain information.
-
Bump. We're in 2015 and a mutkiolayer game doesn't have MM? Sack up Bungie
-
I'm for it. But only if you guys promise not to fill the forums up about getting paired with people who's guns suck or are inactive or lack skill. That is what comes after optional matchmaking. If they do put it in, wait and see the real complaining begin.

Bump. Nothing on this yet. I guess the current philosophy is the only one we get.

Edited by Louise Belcher: 8/6/2015 6:40:25 PMthey seem to think that the hardest part of their raids should be finding a competent group. that's pretty smart. if i were an enterprising software developer, i would design an ios and droid app that could datamine our destiny account information in order to then make group suggestions based on queries to character location, level, weapons, raid lockouts, progression, etc that we could then use to circumvent this incredibly stupid design philosophy.
