Yo, for anyone interested in what the Soul Level meta is, I warn you that Soul Level is only relevant in the arenas. Outside of that, soul memory determines matching. As for the actual "meta", most people agree on somewhere between 150-200. Personally, I just aim for 200, considering 150 is only good for RoBFlynn builds, which I despise with a passion. Really though, you can stop leveling whenever you feel like it, I just ask you don't become a level 387 havelmonster.

  • The arenas are completley random bruh, what r u talking about. I go in at low level and fight 200+ 300+ guys all the time. I'm on a level 60 bleed build atm and there's very very few every near my level

  • No, they prioritize Soul Level, but if no match can be find they pick anyone available.

  • Don't go to New Game if you want PvP. Staying in your first play through will match you up against people of the same level. Thank god this is a feature

  • There used to be something like this, but it no longer exists. There was a barrier between NG and NG+. People in NG could only summon and invade people who were also in NG, and anyone in NG+ could summon anyone else in any NG+ cycle (NG+2, NG+3, etc.), but not people in regular NG. They removed the barrier a while ago though, so now someone in NG can summon someone in NG+5 as long as they were in the same soul memory bracket. I think the main reason they removed the barrier was because people who died a lot had a really high SM whilst still in NG, so they couldn't summon anyone because no-one in NG was in that area at their SM.

  • Yeah, it isn't a very good system. It basically searches for an opponent within a certain level range, and if it can't find one, it matches you up with any opponent that also can't find someone within their level range, so you often find a lot of over-leveled players during low level arena PvP.

  • I think I'm around souls lvl 165 and I intend on keeping my character and one day reaching max level! Imagine fighting another max level character now that would be interesting.

  • Havel builds can be fun, I say do what you want and don't worry about it.

  • Havel build is fun, Haveljesters with chaos blades are not fun.

  • Thankyou!!! This. I can deal with jesters I can handle havels. Hell I'll even match up your chaos blade/ice rapier. But when u combine all 3, have unbreakable poise, and with no chance of a critical, it's just annoying.
