For your first question, I simply don't have an answer. I'm left wondering why things happen the way they do sometimes myself. I simply accept that it's out of my control and that wherever that child or baby is now, it is much better off than living on this world. Even God says in the bible that a baby who dies before it is born is better off than someone who has to live and suffer living on Earth. God can control and do anything, but he gave us free will, so he simply doesn't interfere with those who don't want to be interfered with. I believe that he on;y interferes for the better or protection of others.
I'm iffy on Satan punishing the wicked. God knows how Hell compares to Heaven and the difference is that you will suffer for eternity instead of spending eternity in paradise. Hell is described throughout the bible on many occasions. I think Satan tries to trick people into thinking otherwise though. God is forgiving, but he isn't fooled by someone who doesn't truly want to be forgiven and repent of the sins they have committed. If they don't truly know God or want forgiveness and simply try to say "Sorry, won't do it again" then he will simply reply "Sorry, I don't know you."
I believe their may still even be parts of the bible that were written long ago intended to be part of the final version that e simply haven't come across yet. I think God has only allowed man to "change" the bible enough for it to still tell the story he wants to be told. Somethings may have been left out but I don't believe they cause the literature to swerve off in a different direction or anything like that. God chose those whom he chose specifically and precisely. More than 40 authors actually. It would probably be incredible to read a bible from a thousand years ago. The language would be so much different. That's why you have to be careful deciphering some of the things the Bible describes.

Ok, I will leave to baby/illness topic. I'm satisfied with your answer :) As for 'Satan', I'm not Christian and as much as I understand your view point, I still disagree with it. I dislike that the Christian 'Satan' is depicted with horns as its the result of Christians idenitfiying the pagan horned-God as the devil, simply because the people who worshipped him were not Christian (I know this is a long time ago though and do not blame you). But also, could one not live a life as written in the bible, without having ever read it, and so be sent to 'hell' for simply not believing and worshipping 'God'? Doesn't seem like a nice thing... And I just think the bible of a thousand years ago is the TRUE bible and so any change would just be an insult to 'God'. Unless you believe your 'God' truely chooses people - even though the pope is elected, by men.? Just one thing - I appreciate your faith, do you appreciate mine? I will never be Christian, so in your eyes am I wicked and will go to hell?
