Okay, so why do you dismiss the idea entirely the way you do?
-
Because omnipotence is logically impossible. Because there is no evidence for god or heaven. Because people use religion as a means of political control. Because even if I did believe in god, I wouldn't worship someone who demands me to Because there are other explanations and theories about the origin of the universe Because I am completely fine with the idea that I'll die and never live again Because it's obvious religion is just another myth our ancestors believed in because they didn't have any other way of finding answers

Many things simply are logical. There are actually many things that are completely unfathomable. The size of the universe for example? Or multiple universes? The Bible is evidence enough for me. Religion is by no means used as a way of political control in my opinion, unless its the Vatican or another country and religion. No one demands you to worship God. God wants you to follow him, he doesn't "demand" you, although he has given us "commands". Yes, there are other explanations. So you simply choose whichever one suits you best. To die and then cease to exist? Another unfathomable thought I suppose. A myth? Anything can be considered a myth. I think people refuse the Bible as the answer and go about their time trying to come up with other answers that never fully answer anything anyways.

Nah, he doesn't demand us to, just makes us burn in hell for eternity for it if we don't. No different than a dictator torturing people for not liking his rule.
-
But this "dictator" doesn't punish you during your earthly life for choosing to not believe in his word. He tries to save you from that eternal punishment. Some people can't seem to wrap their minds around that though.
