NINJA ATTACK
-
Nothing could make me not believe. John 10:28 says nothing can snatch us from Jesus' hand.
-
Except for objective analysis
-
What's that?
-
Seriously?
-
I wouldn't be asking if I didn't know
-
Seriously?
-
I don't think the bible says that.
-
Edited by Britton: 5/28/2015 6:59:00 PMOf course it doesn't. Its not going to tell you to objectively analyze your own beliefs, because that would lead to disbelief by most reasonable people. Instead the bible says "have faith"

Britton, stop attacking religion. It makes me not like you and I'd rather continue to like you.
-
Criticism isn't attacking. I welcome criticism of my own beliefs because it makes me learn more about them. So i return that sentiment in kind. Now if I said all religious people are retarded, or there is no hope for them, or some other equally useless statement, I would agree I am attacking. But I don't see my comment as attacking. Take that for what you will.

Posts like that are why a like you! They make you a very difficult person to dislike.
Sorry if the tone of that comments sounded overly defensive or something. It was meant to come across more as a plea.
No worries.

A sad story I would like to share: I had a very close friend (no ex-girlfriend) whom lost her grandma all of a sudden. She prayed and prayed and begged for God to bring her back and that she wasn't prepared to lose her so soon. Of course, this prayer was not answered and her grandma was not raised from the dead so... she gave up on her faith. I've since lost contact with this old friend, but I think she wasn't fair in her decision making on the matter or in what she was praying for.
-
Then she was never a Christian in the first place (1 John 2:19).
-
A weak faith doesn't mean no faith...
-
True. And?
-
You said the person was never a Christian in the first place. The death of a loved one can break your faith if its weak. Just saying the person could have really been a Christian just didn't have much faith.
-
Edited by SSG ACM: 5/28/2015 4:27:32 PMIs it true that the OP said that she dropped her faith after she confirmed her disbelief?
-
That's true.
-
Haha wasn't expecting that question! The only way I can think of that would make me change my beliefs would be if another religions main deity appeared out of thin air in front of me and said something along the lines of "Hello Dallas. I know you are a strong believer of the Christian faith but I am hear to guide you from that path onto the path you should be on." And then again, even if that happened, I would be wondering if Satan as playing a trick on me or something like that.
-
Well the Bible does say that even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
