During the time leading to the House of Wolves dlc I became increasingly exited for the new Trials of Osiris game type. However after spending the bulk of the weekend, playing it there was a couple of problems that I had experienced.
(Note that the problems are merely a matter of trying to keep this new mode from being swept under the rug due to players finding the mode to difficult.)
Problem 1: There was not really a way to face guardians that where on the skill level that my team was playing at. For example during our run we had run a cross a team of 32s and a 31, when the team I was with was two 33s and a 34, leading to a very easy win due to the fact that the other team simply did not have the gear to face us.(Now I know that the Trials had a appearance on Bungie's twitch explaining the rules and mechanics weeks a head of time, but I do know several people who had avoided the streams, or did not have access to them, and this is the other teams fault for being under prepared) However there where multiple times where our team also faced a full team that had already 9-0ed the Trails. Leaving to a very quick and humiliating defeat at the hands of people who have simply too much time upon their hands.
How it could be fixed, possibly by, adding a similar ranking system, inside the Trials Playlist, similar to Halo 3's where if a team constantly losses, they then have a number that represents how they stack up to other guardians in the playlist, and if a team constantly wins, they then get paired up with other winners. I do know that this system was able to be manipulated back in Halo 3, but that's where the team's average level comes in, where their gear is looked at by an automated system to see where that guardian's potential level is at, so that in game guardians that change their level mid-game will not affect the matches made. Or something similar to that fashion.
Problem 2: Finding a team. During my time in the Trials finding a team became more and more difficult, as friends stopped wanting to play, and the forums became the only way that I could find a team. While this is not the game's fault it is extremely irritating, trying to get into the Trials in order to try to get etheric light to up grade my gear or get the gear that the vender is selling. Note not saying it should be difficult just that it at least should not rely on me hoping on the forums to form a team.
Fixing this problem could go really nicely or extremely dicey as allowing single players to enter in the Trails and get matched up with unskilled players would be unfair to that player, on the flip side an unskilled player could get matched up with other players who are too skilled leading to the duo carrying that teammate. However fixing the problem could be a simple as eliminating teams all together leading to a set stock rumble format, or allow my previous fix to come into play where people who can't find teams are pared with similarly skilled members. Allowing for players to at least have the opportunity to try for the rewards.
I hope that my concerns are at least heard and to at least get a response on my views, and get notified on what can work, and what doesn't. My post is not trying to be hate full as I love pretty much most of what Bungie has done over the years.
Sincerely,
DuskChill

This would be better off in feedback as this is the help section of the forums and this will get overlooked
