Well the hammer on the Rhino isn't just for show. Or maybe it is on that specific model, idk. On most of them it's for manual cocking.
But the hammers on the hand cannons in Destiny don't appear to be false like the Rhino (based on the animations).

Well it's for show in that there's probably much easier ways for manually cocking, but they wanted to keep it as "revolver" as possible. I think the gun is actually striker fired.

Edited by JustOnePepsi: 5/26/2015 10:08:40 PMYeah, it has an internal cam/pin system. Basically a concealed secondary hammer. If you watch the action of a Chiappa Rhino that shows the visible hammer cocking the weapon (acting as a double-action revolver), you'll see that the hammer action completes before the weapon is fired. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gQiXoiMl4c&feature=youtu.be&t=58 I'm completely nitpicking with this thread. If the hammers on the hand cannons are meant to be false, then the animations for them are wrong (especially on The Last Word, which is obviously meant to be a single-action revolver). If the animations on them are correct, then the design of them is wrong. I thought this thread would be humorous, and it has been. I certainly didn't expect to get so many replies though. lol
