The lighthouse being available to flawless Osiris tickets is fine, I'm totally cool with this system. It should be difficult and want to make you strive to become better. Bungie isn't just tailoring to the elite and giving handouts. You have to earn the right to enter and claim those rewards.
If you think otherwise then why don't we just do away with the whole system and all you need to do is buy a ticket to get access to Osiris awards. Hell why don't we just give the tickets away and you just get an Osiris package with all of the new items. I mean why should we have to earn them right?

I agree with this. ToE should be earned. Something in this game needs to feel like an accomplishment again. The last time I felt really good about completing something was when I got my VOG helmet from hard mode just trying to be that 30 so bad. It's way to easy for people to rank up in this game. Way to toddler friendly.

If you bought all the ToO perks you really only need to go 7-1.
-
The only argument is that there is no argument. ToO flawless players unite!

Edited by tyde91: 5/26/2015 4:46:59 PMWhile I'll agree it should be earned. There is something to think about and why the system is a little broken. Why would you only give out primary weapons with elemental damage in ToO, when those weapons would be more useful in PVE. While I don't care because I will probably still fall back on my Fate, VOC, and others it just doesn't make sense. Not everyone in this game likes or even cares to play PVP. Bungie in turn has basically said if you want the new weapons for PVE you must play PVP. Again that's fine, but you can't really expect to ask a primary PVE player just to go into the ToO and win. And saying "Get Gud Scrub" just makes you look like an ass. Again, the lighthouse should be earned, but they do need to look at the weapons. Nothing should be given away, but you can't seriously ask a PVE player to play PVP and expect them to win 9 in a row or even 9-1 or 9-2 without being carried. Not trying to argue, but just saying. I'm glad PVP'ers have something to call their own and for those that have won congrats...really congrats. Just think about what I said. Should a PVE player be forced to play PVP to get weapons that could help them in PVE? Edit: So after reading I noticed that the level 35 poe can drop elemental primaries. Didn't know that. So I will just say nevermind and leave it like it is. Except Bungie needs to increase the drop rate for those weapons. Did 7 35's last week and no drop, but it looks like if you complete the trails you will get one and it's not having to pray to the RNG gods. :) To the PVP'ers enjoy your new weapons.

I'm mediocre or a lil above at pvp. I usually break even or better in a typical match. I'm fine with the content being locked away to the pvpers as I use to be pretty good at halo and rainbow six. Age it would seem is starting to catch up with me and a limited time to play with a family and full time job doesn't help either. My biggest problem is I'm use to playing control on the banner. I'm not use to the mindset of squad based slayer type of fighting. I'll adapt and get better. Just need to play more skirmish and free for all to spruce up a bit. Grats to those who have done it. Much respect and enjoy.

Either you sack up and take action, or youcry like a bitch.

Edited by Blanks: 5/26/2015 7:51:12 PMEdit; straw man argument lel But nah, my argument to change the Trials would only be for Bungie to bring back their ranking system as seen in Halo 2-3 and bring matchmaking along with it. Bad kids match with bad kids. The top pvpers with the top pvpers. It's literally the only way to make this game mode fair and competitive. My other issue lies with Bungie roping off content players paid for. I would think matchmaking would be standard for most game modes- that players shouldn't go outside the game to play it. Also that Trials only being available on the weekend screws those who work the weekend. (And no, just because you were able to do it doesn't mean everyone can) That's it. The 9-0 is fair but Bungie needs to make it more AVAILABLE is all. And I'd think that's a pretty fair think to ask for considering people have paid for the content.

It doesn't really make sense that a PvP event gives out guns that will be good in PvE... burns don't matter on PvP so I don't really get that to be honest.
-
Going flawless also shouldn't rely on the off chance that you can face 9 teams in a row that have no connection issues. I got shut down twice last night by inability to get past players living through golden guns shots and lagging all over the map. I even played the same lagging team twice in a row which isn't supposed to happen. Some method needs to be created so people with same quality of internet can play together.
-
Exactly. I'd even take it a step further: may as well just give us everything once we install the disc (exotics, ToO, PoE gear). Honestly... The items only make you feel good because you went through something to get them. Without the stories, without stressing during the final round, without sweating as the last guardian standing, without coming out victorious in a 1v1 gun fight so many times, what would your loot be worth?
-
I tried trials and I love the concept of it, and I love how you have to go flawless to get to the light house. That being said they should lock out the people/ put them in their own servers that already do flawless runs and that can always go flawless to give us less so experience guys a little more of a chance. That's all and I do know I have to get a lot better at trials
-
all of the PvP players now have their own little area so I hope they stop bitching about lack of PvP content. Now they can get to max level without even trying to do a nightfall or PoE. Way to level the playing field bungie! You can run 9-0 in trials in under 2 hours and you are guaranteed at LEAST 2 pieces of ethric light and yet it takes 5+ hours of a grind to get 1 pieces of ethric light from Skolas? WTF Bungie? I hope this shuts all of the elitist PvP a-holes up now. To me it seems like Bungie said "screw spending our time making raids. Lets just throw them into a deathmatch that you have to cheese to win and give the PvP guys everything they want"
-
Went flawless on all three characters... Isn't that hard
-
To me, the ToO seems like something Bungie offered to the best PvP players so that they could acquire rewards on par with raids, but not have to do any PvE content to get it. Honestly, I don't see the problem with it. And in case you think I'm one of those hardcore elite defending this, I'm not. I'm terrible at PvP, as my .5 k/d ratio will attest. I wouldn't survive 30 seconds in there. But I can still respect the gaming skill it takes to climb to the top of the heap.
-
doesn't really matter most people will have the weapons and gear in a few weeks. Most of the hardcore plays will move on within this month to other things and will come back when comet is released. Just like Corta "look at me im special because im 32" gear the hype will die down and alot more people will be Egyptians. and since any legendary set can make you 34 im glad to see what sets people will mix and match to make a unique guardians
-
There should be a way to grind yourself there, even is 9-0 is the best way. The awards there make all the best Pvp players the best Pve players due to the equipment that can only be gained there. Furthermore, its a rich getting richer scheme too, easier to get to 34, access to better weapons to keep killing the 33s faster and faster... endless feedback look. Give out exclusive ships, shaders, armor models (no exclusive perks), and class items sure... let them show off, but dont reinforce the difference between the pvp gods and the try-hards. Every week fewer and fewer guardians can access the lighthouse because the top pvpers meet and group up and go pwn the scrubs just trying to get their 5 wins for armor, or 7 wins for weapons.. You end up with a tiny pool of haves, and a tiny pool of have-nots. Say what you like, anyone (well, almost anyone) can get to crota or atheon, or level 5 iron banner on a long enough timeline, so everyone has access to the best gear Solution: If you went 9-0 one week, maybe you should only be able to go up against 9-0 people the remainder of that week, and maybe the next. That way you don thave 9-0 people continuing to slaughter 1-3 teams who are just trying to get to 34 and dont give a rats patootie about being 9-0. Sooner or later, it will drive all the people the 9-0s beat this week out of ToO.

I have a friend's who are very good at this and others who are very bad at this. It's a team effort and being carried through it is nothing like being carried through a raid. If you suck, your team is going to suffer for it. The lighthouse is absolutely not for everyone, unfortunately, but that's why it's there. If you could get it without any effort, then there would be no point in it existing at all. Keep the lighthouse and stop the bitching.
-
Agreed. Have you SEEN footage of the lighthouse? It's silly to be so butt hurt over not having access. Every post about it screams "entitlement" and is just embarrassing to read.
-
I really, really enjoyed trials--and I'm an average crucible player who plays much more PvE than PvP. It's by far the most fun I've had in Destiny PvP, and the game mode is well-designed (with a couple notable exceptions). My two issues:
warlocks should not be able to self-res after all three team members are dead

you should be able to re-forge Lighthouse weapons
-
Well said guardian. Bump.
-
I feel like most of these kids got carried... I see way to many exotic emblems now.
-
I'm fine with being carried
-
Who's complaining about how difficult it is? It should be. I have no gripes about it, and never really even care if I make it there. What I DO mind, however, is getting error coded out and receiving a loss for it. I understand the need for people to be held accountable for attempting D/C, but when the issue IS server side, the player shouldn't be punished.
-
Agreed, I have no problem with an award for those who win 9 in a row in ToO. Not many will do this. Congrats to those who have done it, I know I could not as I'm a mediocre player at best.
-
It's cool and all but there's nothing of the sort for pve players it's all catered for PVP alone. And don't even try and bring up PoE 35 lol 3 ghorns weapons of light we killed skolas before his mines even showed up...total joke and bullshit rewards for the 15 keys I've used so far lol got all "her weapons/PoE guns" I have no problem with exclusive hard to reach content but they pretty much spit in pve players faces since leveling up to 34 is even a joke now...( complete queens bounty missions, buy gauntlets, do PoE 32 and 34 and your level 34).
-
Being given a package will still be too much work. I just want Bungie to put all the items in my inventory.
in all honesty though I agree with what you are saying
