Deer Bungie, If you can't/won't give us optional matchmaking. Please consider an in game LFG function( could work well with in game grimoire *hint*) that can be accessed anywhere, in game, for any activity. "optional"Matchmaking would be cool don't get me wrong. key point is we need effecient and convenient in game grouping.
Here's an example;
●Bust out your ghost. Hit the d-pad. choose either Look for group/post group.
● Have filters for activities, checkpoints, guardian lvl and regions etc.
● your guardian/fireteam inspect able player information will be auto posted for other guardians to inspect, along with the above filter options and some words of your choice.
● Choose a post. wait for acceptance. Join fire team. Play the game. If you and the fireteam hit it off, send out some friend requests.
If this is possible It's just one of many possible solutions to a very real problem(refer to various posts and comments on the lack of grouping funtions for any and all activities inside the game). When this fixed, we can move on and together help shape a perfect destiny.
To the players; There is so much potential for destiny guardians! let's share as a community and support good ideas with the like button and a bump. If you have good ideas share them here, and we will get you out of orbit and into the fight!
More supporting ideas and proof the majority wants a change to how we group.
https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/102878440/0/0

~Customized Bump~ “We are going to die, sooner or later, whether we speak for ourselves or not. My silences had not protected me. Your silences will not protect you.... What are the words you do not yet have? What are the tyrannies you swallow day by day and attempt to make your own, until you will sicken and die of them, still in silence? We have been socialized to respect fear more than our own need for language." I began to ask each time: "What's the worst that could happen to me if I tell this truth?" Unlike women/Men in other countries, our breaking silence is unlikely to have us jailed, "disappeared" or run off the road at night. Our speaking out will irritate some people, get us called bitchy or hypersensitive and disrupt some dinner parties. And then our speaking out will permit other women/Men to speak, until laws are changed and lives are saved and the world is altered forever. Next time, ask: What's the worst that will happen? Then push yourself a little further than you dare. Once you start to speak, people will yell at you. They will interrupt you, put you down and suggest it's personal. And the world won't end. And the speaking will get easier and easier. And you will find you have fallen in love with your own vision, which you may never have realized you had. And you will lose some friends and lovers, and realize you don't miss them. And new ones will find you and cherish you. And you will still flirt and Drink, Smoke, dress up and party, because, as I think Emma Goldman said, "If I can't dance, I don't want to be part of your revolution." And at last you'll know with surpassing certainty that only one thing is more frightening than speaking your truth, And that is not speaking.” ― Audre Lorde

Destiny needs matchmaking it sucks looking for randoms on the forums. If your not level 34 it's twice as hard finding a fire team. It's really annoying
-
Wow, a good idea on these forums
-
That would be cool, I'll be I n patrol doing events, and it's nice to have help, but doesn't warrant going to lfg

Edited by Tymus_The_Wolf: 5/27/2015 10:38:25 PM
I am posting for the first time in this forum in order to add my voice to this cause. I love love love playing Destiny, but the lack of matchmaking is a serious friggin' bummer. I'd like to make a point which seems to be eluding many of the dissenting voices: If you play this game, you will have good AND bad experiences, no matter how you go about finding a team to play with. Deal with it. Okay, now I am about to go on a rant. I'd like to address Deej's comment in particular: We care. We just believe that social connections in the game make the overall experience better. There are many good applications for matchmaking in Destiny. Our designers feel very strongly that endgame activities rely on a team that is acquainted with itself. After reading this, I find myself even more exasperated with the no matchmaking decision. 'A team that is acquainted with itself'? This is a joke, right? How can anyone in their right mind say that finding a group of randoms on LFG is 'a team that is acquainted with itself'? Maybe Bungie should take it a step further, and not allow us to play the game we paid for, unless it's with people who have been on our friends list for at least (insert random length of time here)? You must be acquainted! No soup for you! I literally can't believe I just read that from the Bungie spokesperson. This is their excuse for no matchmaking? Let me tell you a story. I was excited for HOW. I really wanted to play Trials this past weekend. I decided to use the DestinyLFG site to find a group to play with, (seeing how using a third party site was my only option for playing the game I paid for) and I would just like to point out what should be glaringly obvious to everyone by now. I got paired with completely RANDOM people. We were not acquainted with each other. Using the LFG site, I was paired with people unknown to me, which is the exact same thing as if I had a game with matchmaking, and simply hit 'search' for a game. The only difference? I wasted a lot of time going through the motion of finding these randoms, proving that I was dedicated! All so I could appease Bungie, and play the game that I paid for. I tried to make it work. I made my LFG post specific. I read that Trials uses connection to determine fireteams matched against each other. So, I let people know about my general geographic location in my LFG post, hoping that maybe the site would work, and I would get local players to me, and a good connection. I live in the good 'ol US of A. The guys who responded to that LFG post? They live in Australia. Again, for people who need it repeated, completely RANDOM people. I see a lot of comments here saying 'but wait until you use matchmaking and get paired with someone who quits on you!' Guess what? That's exactly what happened to me with one of the groups I found on LFG. I got a fireteam together with two guys who happened to post on LFG at the same time I posted. We were getting our asses kicked in Trials, and one of these guys from the wonderful world of LFG decided to up and quit on us. So, please spare us this ridiculous argument, it has no merit. Was the entire LFG experience a bust? No. I had some good times. I got destroyed in Trials, but I met two really cool guys from across the pond who carried me through a level 34 POE. I'm now a rank 34, yay! Which leads us back around to my first point. It's very simple, people. If you play this game, you will have good AND bad experiences, no matter how you go about finding a team to play with. Bungie, for the sake of everything that is good in this world, give us matchmaking. Give us options to play the game we love.
by: caddyshack
