I like guns and stuff a lot, so I caught a few of these too, like hand cannons and scout rifles. For hand cannons, I thought maybe since the cylinder comes out in a big chunk when you reload it, perhaps it's some fancy-dancey future tech where the hammer only has to hit the cylinder somewhere and it fires bullet mass from the barrel. Scout rifles, I'm still not sure how the magazine in that position works (unless the bullets are facing up and feed through the handgrip, but then it's need to do a goofy turn around the corner to be fired) but oh well haha I still enjoy the game so I'm willing to overlook em.

Edited by DocDubbs: 5/25/2015 1:04:05 PMHehe nah I'm not "caught up" or even complaining, just speculating. Like I said at the end of my comment, it doesn't really matter much, I just find it fun to think about things like that :)

We also colonized the moon, Mars, Venus, Mercury... The game is fictional. Don't get so caught up on the little things bud.

I haven't really taken such a serious tone in response to these kinds of things... but if anything, this thread was made out of curiosity as to how the specifics of the weapon design are meant to work. The attitude of "it makes sense if you don't think about it so just shut up and play" is honestly why we have things like a grimoire that isn't even connected to the game itself in any meaningful way. It's also why many people think "shut up and shoot stuff" is a pretty crappy story.

Get the app. I read the grimoire when I'm bored in a que or something. The new DLC actually has plenty of story if people are willing to take the 10 seconds to look it up. (The majority would rather bitch/moan on the forums.) The game is fiction, while I'm not saying "just go with it" you can't expect me to take you complaint seriously. It's a video game. No one is claiming that it is factual, accurate, or even an unbiased portrayal of the future. It's just a video game, that means a certain amount of imagination comes with the territory.

Edited by JustOnePepsi: 5/25/2015 1:19:04 PMI don't have a smart phone. To access the grimoire, I need to leave my console and switch to my PC. This is less than intuitive, and is a severe design flaw, imo. Though HoW is much better than TDB and the base game with regards to story. There was some actual character development throughout those missions, and the characters spoke on their history and provided commentary on current events much better than any other point in the game. I'd much prefer to hear about the history and motivations of Skolas than "I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain..." Still, the grimoire being separate from the game itself is a huge oversight.
-
Well then you'll just have to get up and take that long trek to the PC. It's not ideal, but it's the situation you're caught in

For now. Until Bungie figures out how to add text to their game...
-
I think they've added enough that looking up a web page isn't asking too much of their fans. Bungie knows how to add text but they're too busy fixing everything else people cry about on the forums.

I agree :)
