Because compressed air on the moon makes sense as well as 1g on the moon itself or on Venus... and we're complaining on how weapon design isn't real....rotfl

If you consider that the ammo is matter packs mainly in most guns for the Ghost to convert to ammo. You can excuse most of the gun designs. The machine guns are big enough for that design to perhaps work, but it would depend on the scale.
