Hate to break it to you champ, but there would be a very very small percentage of people who would look at the guns in destiny and go, "that's ridiculous!! How dare they not design them 100% correctly!?". So no, I don't think bungie looked at them and went "this is just absurd". They probably just thought they looked cool. You wrote a massive wall of text over a non-issue.

Bungie put a lot of research into weapons when they were making the Halo games, but Destiny is far less grounded in fact and much more about space-cowboy fiction. I agree with you this is a non-issue, I mean what about the Vex Mythoclast? Technically it bends time so I don't think the OP really has a case. And besides, it takes all the fun away when you have to over-analyse!

Edited by John6Max4: 5/25/2015 9:13:31 AMThe Mythoclast is LITERALLY from some broken time paradox that got kicked into our world. I don't think it counts in this discussion since the guns we use are made in the City.

Basically, yeah. The counter-argument is something along the lines of "just because this impossible thing exists, doesn't mean that this other thing, which is possible, should be excused for looking impossible".

You just wrote a rebuttal to something you believe is a non-issue. :D

Touché.
