The p90 is simply the only one I could think of at the time the concept was what I was getting at that the magazine doesn't necessarily need to be inline with the chamber for a round to be loaded. As for the cam the hammer is a cam itself adding an extra one simply changes the direction of travel yes its more complex but being as we are talking "smart matter" the cams could be any material including diamond so failure is less likely.
