I haven't seen a firearm that resembles anything in destiny. Maybe they took inspiration from prototypes of weapons they looked into, or maybe existing ones that aren't the 1911, .44, .38, basically anything that you can relate to destiny.
Any argument based on the asthetics of a weapon in the game instantaneously become invalid due to the setting in which the game is played.
The spas in MW2 could shoot clear across a map, one shot somebody and get the guy behind them. Nobody complained about the mechanics of the gun, just that it was aggravating people.
