The One Ring isn't a mechanical device based on a real-world counterpart. It's an inert object explained as being imbued with dark magic.
The Millenium Falcon IS a mechanical device based on real-world counterparts (extraterrestrial ships), but the design is not based on those ships through necessity. There is no such thing as a "hyperdrive", but we accept that it simply exists because the story demands it.
Your analogies are... ineffective. They hold merit when compared to things like the Stranger's Rifle and Ice Breaker, but not to the weapons in question. In fact, there is no logical explanation as to why the guns are designed the way that they are. The game's lore and story certainly don't demand it, otherwise all of the weapons would be designed in this manner. Which is obviously not the case...

All I have is homestyle. The blueberry waffles were scavenged by ravenous chipmunks...
