So, chief sides with the outer colonies? That fits. But what's going on with ONI? Is the UNSC leaving them? Is it going to fracture?

Where'd you get the idea Chief sides with the Outer Colonies? He sort of assassinated the Outer Colonies' ambassador.

I am making a leap with it, but I think he is allied with the outer colonies because Locke is with ONI, and chief [i]is[/i] from the outer colonies. The inner colonies are being fed propaganda that seems to be against the chief. Yet again, we don't know his motives. Also, they never specified what alien group the negotiations were with. It's not the Swords of Sanghelious, because we have a peace treaty, so is it the Storm group?

Chief has never shown any interest in his childhood home and we've never seen his political views to my knowledge (if this has come up in any other media please let me know). Chief strikes me as a person who is about saving everyone (not just humanity), and doesn't necessarily care about political differences between the two groups. From these audio logs it looks like Chief isn't allied with either group and has a larger goal in mind. There is definitely a larger picture that Chief is seeing and is a part of.
