While roaming around the area in the hopes of finding another secret area, I ended up finding an easy out of bounds glitch! Check it out yourself, if you're good enough to even reach the lighthouse area that is. I'm kind of amazed I even got there. If anybody finds any useful applications for this glitch, please do share. I'd love to see us get passed the Vex Gate.
