• Stackoverflow.com is a godsend.... That is my advice to you lol Also, I'm a programmer. Got interested after seeing the Insomniac Museum in a Ratchet and Clank game. I've been working as a software/applications developer happily for almost two years now. It's fun stuff! You just have to think very logically at times... Though, you need to know to look for your own mental screw ups too. On a side note, I can easily say that the amount of back seat coders on this site is infuriating.

    • I'm currently doing my second internship as a Software Engineer this summer (between my junior and senior years of college). I've been programming for about 4 years. My best languages are C# and Java. I also am pretty comfortable with: C, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Ruby, Racket, and Bash.
I'm well aware not all those are "Programming" Languages.
I have a fair amount of experience in Web application development with the MEAN stack, and I am currently learning ASP.NET with Web Forms and MVC. My advice, learn some C-based language early on. They are used in a lot of places, and the concepts they teach are useful in so many more. Also, learn about some fundamental Systems concepts like clients/servers and networks.

I know enough Java to make a terribly optimized program if the need arises, but I'm certainly no expert. Somewhat comfortable with HTML and CSS as well.
inb4 veteran programmers hate on me for calling HTML a programming language.
I've been programming for 2 years now. I'm getting my degree at Colorado State University so I'm half way done. I'm done learning the basics using Java, C, C++, Python, and L-C3 so now I have to learn about hard stuff like big data and operating systems. It's tough but it's fun and rewarding.

      • W3Schools is amazing for learning new languages. I used it when I was learning SQL for my database class.

        • I'm pretty new to programming. Started off with HTML and CSS. I'm learning Java right now. Don't have a lot of time to learn it because of school. This summer though...
