We all know the formidable PvE enemy races, Fallen, Cabal and Vex and we're all a part of the cadre of usual enemy in the PvP Guardian ranks. But there is another enemy that permeates the walls and landforms we've all trampled over in Destiny. It's the enemy that we “dare not speak its name”. It's a silent killer, gets us from behind when we're not looking, punishes us when we're too cocky, rules over us when we push our limits too far.
I'm speaking of THE ARCHITECT.
How often has that enemy silenced our campaigns for completing quests without dying? How often has he suddenly appeared in the melee giving us a quick four second count to shape up, reverse our course or die an ignoble death? I have often faced off against him (or her, or it – who's to say?) but have never even come close to landing a blow let alone beating him.
I bow my head in submission to the great Architect. Long may he reign over my stay in his lands. I abide by his rules, however illogical they seem to me. I know he lurks and watches, judging all.
And when, as I suspect will come someday, we suffer the fate that I among others who hope to somehow survive it will call the BROOM-BOT REBELLION, I can only surmise that the Architect will have had a hand in its planning, execution and timing.
I serve the Architect (or at least hope not to piss him off too much.) ;-)
