Petra has EARNED her rank
Well if any of you played the first HoW mission you notice how she says. " I have EARN *pause* my rank in the Queen guard". I feel Bungie has made a reference to the community, how people discuss how you earned your exotics or not. I was laughing pretty damn hard. Do you guys think its a reference or coincidence.

6 RepliesPetra "earned" her position as Queen's Emissary by screwing up. She called in an airstrike, while she was a Queen's Corsair, during a battle with the Fallen without having enough information and ended up with three strike teams of Guardians dead. The Queen demoted her and sent her to the Tower as Emissary, to try and repair the relationship that Petra herself had damaged. Her position wasn't a promotion it was punishment.

I made a comment similar to what I'm about to say a couple of days ago. I would have laughed my ass off had she said "I didn't Xurn my rank in the Queens Guard". That would have even surpassed when Eris says "In its dying breath, the traveler released the ghosts.... to open doors".
