My brothers have been playing for about 10 years or so, I've never gotten into it - despite them desperately trying. However they recently showed me a similar game called Inquisitor. It's pretty awesome! And a fair bit cheaper.

Look up Vaults of Terra on YouTube. Watch a couple videos. Maybe look at some gameplay from the PC game Dawn of War. If you like the things you see, maybe you will like the tabletop. But I hear of people paying thousands for even mediocre armies, so have some cash to throw around if you're serious about this. FOR THE IMPERIUM!
