Due to to high level of skill required in the Crucible, matchmaking should not be allowed. The reasons for removing Crucible matchmaking are endless, but here are a few...
AFK'ers?!
That's right, you might get matched up with a guardian who doesn't even participate. There go your chances of winning.
No Mics?!?!
Imagine getting thrown in with someone who refuses to communicate through voice chat... Completing any objectives or achieving the team-play necessary to win would be virtually impossible!
Too Difficult
Lets be real... This is the most difficult activity in Destiny. A human opponent will always be infinitely more deadly than vex/fallen/etc... Let alone 6 human opponents! An uncoordinated (matchmade) team has no chance.
I don't think I need to continue.
Besides all of that... WHAT IS SO HARD ABOUT FINDING FRIENDS TO PLAY WITH?! Are you such a bad person that nobody will play with you???
There are plenty of ways to make friends and recruit Crucible fireteams. Go to the Recruitment page on the Forums or that LFG website.
QUIT BEING LAZY

I'm sorry lazy? You're kidding right? There's maybe 2 extra thumb movements and increased wait time of maybe 10 minutes at the most. Hell you don't even have to move to do Lfg. There's little to no difference in effort and time between matchmaking and Lfg to call it "lazy". Now I'm sure there are people out there that won't use Lfg simply because it takes such little more effort but I'd say they are the minority of the community on this topic. And you can find exactly what you mentioned above in Lfg. When it comes down to it you don't know the people you're playing with in both methods of finding a group. People found both ways can be AFK and can have no mics. Personally I like both methods and wouldn't hurt to see it made optional.
