Ether Keys
So I have been trying to get those legendary keys from the actual chests for when the full release comes out on Tuesday but I have YET to get one while my friend already has 5.. Do I have to be level 32? I know he is.

GO TO TOWER AND CLEAR YOUR POSTMASTER!!! OR ELSE YOUR KEY WILL DISAPPEAR LEARNED THE HARD WAY WAS FARMING GOT A KEY DIDENT GO TO TOWER RIGHT AWAY, KEPT FARMING THE. WHEN I WENT TO TOWER MY POST MASTER WAS FULL OF BLUE ENGRAMS AND MY KEY WAS GONE ! ;((((( so CLEAR YOUR POSTMASTER !!

I just got one on my 27 hunter. My 32 warlock has yet to get any keys. I wouldn't be too concerned about level, it seems to be rare all across the board.

What I don't get is when you do get a key, it's stored in your consumables instead of your mission slots. We certainly don't consume the keys, the chests in the Prison of Elders do...and, imagine that, the Prison of Elders is a mission that we will be doing over and over again. This would easily solve the current special ammo synthesis flood, and have a use for those empty slots in our inventory.

Do you have to have actually bought the dlc to get them? I plan on buying it when it drops on Tuesday, but I want to farm for keys now

It's RNG mate. I've been farming them like mad with my clan. And I have one key. Fellow clan mates have 10 or more.

4 RepliesYou don't have to be level 32! It's all RNG based so, in the laws of Destiny, could take you 5 chests or 80. Personally i have 2 keys and it took me about 35 chests. Good luck!
