How to nerf Thorn fairly

Now I know this is a hot button topic right now, some say it's OP, some say it isn't, whatever. I have come up with an idea I hope you all might be able to think about, that nobody ever mentions. The thorn should have slower bullet travel velocity. It's the only gun in the game that shoots giant thorn bullets, everything else some sort of colored plasma and or presumably bullets. This would create drag against the gigantic and less aerodynamic thorn shot. If we reduce the speed of the bullet it would cause people to need to lead their shot on it and adjust for moving opponents instead of just instant hits while spamming the trigger. This is instead of nerfing the poison to the point of uselessness or some other nonsense like nerfing it's range or RoF or something. Edit: I didn't even mean this thread to be serious, I was just making a dumb troll thread, and somehow it sparked some actual decent conversation. Hm.

  • the gun doesn't need nerfed. i have said on countless threads that there are a handful of weapons that beat it in any situation. currently the vex hits harder than any lmg. notice i said lmg and not hmg. so does the red death. the vex is basically an autorifle. the red death gets 2 bursts off in the same time it takes the thorn to get 2 shots off. thorn user dies, red death user leaves with almost as much health as they did when they started the fight. the vex pulverizes thorn, and even beats tlw unless the hip fire bug happens. what people are really saying, but not saying, is buff what i want to be as strong as thorn (really meaning stronger, but i'll give them the benefit of the doubt). there are weapons stronger than thorn, but they want their weapons that they like to use to be stronger than thorn.buffing the entire spray and pray auto rifle class is not the answer. what they did with pulse rifles is a disaster. what they could do is bump EXOTIC autos. it makes no sense to buff and entire weapon class. this game is still supposed to be a loot-based game. top tier weapons should be more powerful than their counterparts, but not whole classes of weapons.
