After a weekend of poking and prodding this website the Bnet Regulars have put together a smallish (I got it under 10,000 characters just for you Hal) list of suggestions and opinions about the BETA.
Think our suggestions are stupid? Think yours are better? Let Bungie know!
SUGGESTIONS
LESS WHITE! -everyone (especially burrito)
The Preview button should be brought back -multiple users
The "Create Poll" option needs to be brought back -multiple users
General Thread LayoutThe layout of replies and how the most recent appears above those which replied earlier; combined with the removal of pages within threads, it makes it especially annoying to scroll for unspecific sets of time. What's also annoying is how you can have tree-like replies when a user replies to another post within the thread, which makes it an inconvenience to have to click an extra button to see what's been written as a response. Would really like if they just had quoting, re-add pages within threads, as well as reversing the order of posts within a thread. -Zealot Tony
More distinct "Official Tags" The default tags aren't official enough as they are easily deleted and amongst the tags that are customizable. If there were 6 or 7 tags that are set in stone in a drop down menu or in the Official Tags list it would allow for a more user friendly, high population forum for people to go to. Any other tags which are added by members allow for more specialized, intimate discussion. -SkilPhil
Edit post box is far too small If you are making a long thread (like the one you're in now) and have to update it several times(like I had to do) the edit box appears as a small portion of your screen below your original post, meaning you have to scroll through it and squint to see what is written there. The edit box should completely replace your original post so that you have enough space to see what was written and allow for easier editing. -Spartan Max
Text for posts is too small -several members
Wasted space in threads Avatars should be displayed larger. There is also not enough space for any useful motto this could be a way to help with the wasted space in the forums by allowing a larger motto similar to the old drop down sigs. The addition of hyperlinks to your motto would also be a good idea.
User Profiles We need more space for Mottos in the theme outline in our profiles. There is a lot of wasted space on the page and it could be used for that.
Merging tags for "Forums" Merging multiple tags into one custom tag, such as #flood #offtopic #theflood all filed into a single tag called 'flood forum' or whatever you wish so they can be viewed all at once. -SkilPhil
Activity in the "Users" tab: The option to see all activity of everyone you follow in the users tab, including threads they post in etc. If its just threads created and its just notifications, it'll rarely be used and when it is used, it'll get a bit clunky. -Halo53
The ability to like individual posts -joe campbell
Easy access to who has liked thread we have created -joe campbell
Accessing Groups from drop down menu problem When you click on Groups from the drop down menu it should automatically select "My Groups" rather than "Explore Groups". -joe campbell
Add a "Followed Users Activity" Tab: There are several filters for different activities you want to view in the activities page there should also be a tab for followed people along with groups and tag activity. Filters based on activities would be a great addition to the activity page. The ability to access it through your profile would also be nice.
Add Fonts to the Conversation(PM) function: Having the functionality of all the special tags re-added into PMs,bold and named links etc. -Mass Craziness
Increase amount of tags that are shown under Followed Tags When viewing the "Master Forum" in the grey bar at the side there is a list of followed tags however this list only shows up to ten tags without having to click "All Tags" that side bar is extremely convenient for moving in between the various forums for the tags you follow and the fact that you can only quickly access 10 through that bar is a bit disappointing. This is all part of a larger issue that is there is a lot of wasted space in many of the areas of the website.
Private Group Suggestions and Feedback -Spawn
Right now there is no possibly way to create a new private group. Will obviously change.
Private groups need to have "titles" return for forum privileges. Right now there is just "Admin" and "Everyone else".
Admins cannot lock threads in private groups or edit others' posts. Obviously locking threads is an important control feature for groups and editing posts is also important when creating large group threads(such as this one).
WHAT HAPPENED TO ARTICLES, GROUP LINKS, CONTACT INFO etc? Seriously. You know all those member interviews that we did? Gone.
Private group news feed? Bring it back?
Pinned threads I like them in the forum rather than on the homepage "info" etc.
Group activity queue. Shows me everything that happened in a group, would love for that to return.

OPINIONS ON BETA FEATURES
Private groups opinion -Spawn
I like that private groups now have a way to be more "Active" in the main forums. This won't be used for most groups, but would be awesome for things like Community Carnage, Community Joes, any group that hosts a gamenight etc. Awesome for recruiting as well.
The homepage should have areas to include links to external sources. Twitter, Facebook, YouTube etc. I'm not saying integrate these options on the homepage, but just another area "about section" to put this information.
Overall, because of key features were removed from private groups, they have definitely taken a step backwards. There were some great features that were implemented for groups, but they really have subtracted on what was there in the previous build.
Distaste for nested replyingWhen trying to quickly read through a thread it is inconvenient to have to uncollapse every comment that has been replied to. The system in general for how threads work where the most replied to posts are at the top is incredibly confusing when trying to read through a thread that is large. Perhaps the reimplementation of the quote system and the former way threads were organized. -several members expressed displeasure with nested replying
Hashtags v Forums and the integration of the two:The hashtags could work within the forum system. I'd bring back the main sub-forums, have them list topics by most recent post, and also use the hashtag system for further customization. Bring back pages instead of the continual load.-Halo53

Wow that was a lot of content.. Yes I do agree with many of these points, especially the quotes and replies. They really have a lot that has to go..
