Hello all.
I'm going to start my annual play-through of all the Bungie-era Halo games soon, but I can't decide what order I should play them in.
Release date:
Halo: CE, 2, 3, ODST, Reach
Canon order:
Reach, CE, 2, ODST, 3
Both have their merits, playing as the story goes could be cool, but going by release date is more nostalgia-inducing as you watch Halo's evolution over the years. What do y'all think?
Edit: I'm surprised more people mentioned Halo Wars than 4.
4 will never be added.
Edit 2: How are so many people missing the "Bungie-era" part of the post?
Seriously, Halo 4 sucks, and it will never be part of my yearly play-throughs.
Edit 3: 100 posts!

>Implying Wars was canonically logical.
-
This order: Halo 1, Halo 2, Halo 3. End.
-
Edited by Shpip: 5/13/2015 7:17:11 PMI like Halo 4, personally, but holy shit. Solo legendary (LASO) is rage inducing. Promethean Knights are really damn annoying. Edit: I don't care about your opinions. I never said it was the hardest Halo, or that I haven't beat it before. Promethean Knights are annoying. That's the basic message. -blam!-.
-
i was gonna say release date but since theres mcc you might as well do canon order
-
Edited by toasterwaffels4: 5/13/2015 9:45:05 PMThe cannon order is cool but release date brings back massive nostalgia at least for me that is. And come on man I know 4 wasn't bungie and tried to cater more towards the rest of Fps genere but it wasn't that bad in my opinion I had fun playing it I liked the story and the multiplayer is decent but I guess you can have your own opinion just my two cents
-
I do canon order for all games
-
Edited by DE4THINC4RN4TE: 5/13/2015 8:33:58 PMI'd say Release Order. It's much easier to appreciate parts of ODST and Reach if you've played CE, 2, and 3. That's just my opinion though.
-
Canon order! But if any of you are thinking of playing Gears of War, DO NOT play Judgement first...
you don't want to
-
God Bless you for not adding 4. Wars deserves a place up there though.
-
Wars, Reach, CE, 2, ODST, 3, 4, 5. Yay.
-
Release order first, then canon order. I would just ignore Reach, you're also forgetting Halo Wars, Halo 4, Spartan Assault and Spartan Strike. Halo 4 is fantastic, actually.
-
Am I the only one with Reach as my favorite Halo, and I think that 4 had some pretty good moments?
-
3, Reach, CE, ODST, 2. Am I a bad person?
-
Bungie only halos halo reach,1,2,3 Halo in general halo wars,reach,1,2,3,4

-
It's Halo Wars, reach, ce, 2, ODST, 3, & 4
-
Honestly I would go by release but you kinda have to go in order.
-
1. 1 2. 2 3. 3 There ya go.
-
1. Halo 4 because it's the only Real Halo Game For Real Fans 2. Halo 4 a second time because you couldn't fully understand it's awesomeness in one play through 3. Other Halo games just to see how much Bungie sucks compared to 343i 4. Halo 4 again to wash away the taste of The Worst Game Developer in recorded history 5. Halo 4 to transcend all worldly desires and become one with God
-
Release date, that's like watching Star Wars starting at one. And that's cringe inducing
-
Halo 4 isn't bad, but it's the spawn of the abomination that is 343i. #bungiemasterrace #notdestiny #destinystillsucks
-
Wars Reach Halo CE Halo 2 ODST Halo 3 Break Halo 4 into pieces.
-
Come on guys, Halo 4 might not be the best Halo but it's far from a bad game.
-
Sure multiplayer sucked. Campaign was good though
-
Thank you, you know the real Halos from Call of Halo.
