Go on Bungie. I would actually really like to know why these maps cannot be added back in or why you will not add them back in right now. Why? Explain to me how hard it is if it is at all. If I remember correctly they were pretty much removed on a whim. So why can't they be added back in just as fast? You say you're "for the players", so prove it. Add them back to regular playlists like most people want. If you won't, at least give me a real reason as to why not. Preferably an answer that isn't silence.
Thanks,
Concerned customer.
Edit1:
It just occurred to me that around the same time that First Light and Bastion were removed from regular playlists, Asylum and The Anomaly were added into the playlists. Is this a coincidence or is Destiny technically incapable of rotating more than 8-9 maps in a playlist at once? Thoughts Bungie?
Edit2:
I hold by re-adding them (and of course getting a response from Bungie as to why not). Despite there being people who "hated" it, there are still a large number that want it back. If you people really hate it that much, then they should add it back but with a smaller chance of being picked. If I played First Light every single game I would despise it. However, I would like the option of a large open, sniping map in my regular rotation ever now and then.
And one more thing: still waiting on that response Bungie.
Edit3: Loads of responses, none are Bungie. It's an easy enough to answer question guys. Why can't or why won't you add these maps back in? Is it because you don't like the long, sniper games they cause? Why limit these maps to a 2 map rotation? I would like to play these maps again, but I don't want to have to exclusively play them and nothing else. Same thing with the dlc maps that I never played. Didn't enjoy playing the same 3 maps over and over even if they were new.
Back to the point; a small 1 sentence answer will suffice. Anything more would be great. Guardian out.
Edit4:
Deej. Love your work. I look forward to your updates every week (even the smaller ones). Just wondering if you could relay this question to the crucible designers. I'd still really like to know why these maps were removed and why they can't or won't be put back into regular rotations despite popular demand and well... no real decent reason (at least from my point of view. Enlighten me if I'm wrong) as to why they were removed in the first place.
Thanks Deej, hope you can shed some light on this.

They're not as competitive as other normal maps in the regular playlists They used to be in there, but they were a big mess Nooby vehicles & turrets, massive noobtube spamming, bad zone & heavy placement, and with the addition of less special ammo it makes dealing with stupid vehicles an ammo wasting chore. The vehicles remove the challenge of direct engagements from player vs player(s) and make them one sided. They're a noobs playland The sniper use is fun, but not anywhere as challenging to use one in those maps
