This is a hard one to criticize for me because I absolutely loved the holy hell out of this expandalone for The New Order. I loved this game so much that I actually went ahead and started another playthrough on the New Order just because I craved more Wolfenstein. Story: Since this is a prequel you kind of already know the overall plot as to how the story is gona play out if you've played the New Order from the very second that you hear about the main objective. I went into this expected just to mindlessly kill every Nazi in sight and just not give a flying flip about the story. I'm glad to say that I was wrong and Blazkowics brings the same kind of cool factor to the game every time he talks (or thinks?) weather it's just a short story that the environment reminded him of or a cutscene. Now don't get me wrong the overall plot is very straightforward but it's the little moments that count. Of course all the cool parts are on Blazkowics and only one other person really plays a part in one of the coolest of the story that reveals something about the New Order. The two antagonists are just these 2 dimensional nazi bastards who are just evil for the sake of being evil but that helps get into B.J's mindset of "the only good nazi is a dead nazi. Graphic: I still think the Wolfenstein the New Order is the best lookin game on the Xbox One. This game looks just as good as the new order if not better for those with a taste for this art style. I personally prefer the dystopian future look but the WWII look is a close second in my favorite themes. Gameplay: -Not much has changed up from the New Order other than a couple of new enemy types and a couple of new weapons but having had maybe 20 at most between the two games I could easily go for a couple hundred more because of how masterful the combat is. Without spoiling anything I will say that in the second Half there is one level that delves into the supernatural the enemies are not nearly as fun to fight but it's brief enough to where I can safely say that it was a nice change of pace. I was not a fan of the last boss fight and If I had to liken the mechanics to another boss fight I would liken them to the human reaper from Mass Effect 2. The guns are big, bulky loud machines of death that will not only put you're enemy down but will literally rip them apart. It's sort of a nostalgic feel shooting a nazi with a shotgun watching his arm fly off along with a chunk of his torso exposing his rib cage that too many games have shied away from. Aside from having the guns feel like some of the most badass guns in gaming they also handle very well feeling snappy with a completely viable hipfire option that is often more preferable than going ADS in many situation which makes dual wielding so damn fun. Screw CoD and their akimbo pistols that have a spread of 3/4 of the screen I'll take my dual wield AR's, & Shotguns that absolutely demolish any and everything within sight over those little pussy pistols any day. The true beauty of these guns though is the recoil. There isn't actually very much recoil on these guns but it looks like it. The recoil looks unpredictable and powerful and it does this without actually hurting accuracy. Whoever designed these guns and had this vision deserves every dollar they made and much more because these guns are just nothing short of the best guns in gaming. Stealth is still hit and miss though it has been masked much better because I don't think I saw someone walk over their buddies dead body and not react but it's still very easy. Even on the hardest difficulty I had no trouble ghosting past tougher opponents and killing everybody else in one shot. I love the takedowns and I love all the different ways of getting through and area but I don't love how easy it was too avoid the AI. Ultimately I stayed away from the crouch button and pulled out my minigun charging headfirst into battle slaying every damn nazi there was (yes you can actually carry a minigun in your inventory this time if you get 200 kills with it.) The experience only lasted around 4 hours which isn't a whole hell of a lot but the New Order didn't last that long either. I usually don't consider purchasing games when they have less than 60 hours to offer me but this is a game that needs to be bought.
