What have you guys been doing to prepare for the HoW dlc? Ive just been storing packages but i feel like i should be doing more. Any ideas?
EDIT 1: So basically have factions ready to level up and save bounties is the best way to go?
EDIT 2: WOW! 40 replies! Thanks for all of the help!

Do public events 3 times a day each package in the postmaster will have xP for everyone
-
Boost your faction reputation within 250 rep of leveling, for every character. Then on launch day, you'll have 15 factions to level, granting you 15 chances to get some beast ass shit.
-
Just hoarding commendations to rank up as well as stocking up those glimmer items that drop( axiomatic beads, house banners, etc)
-
Think the packages are pre set So any saved will be pre How Not sure how true that is

I just straight if leveled up all my weapons. In about 3 weeks I spent some 75k glimmer and hundreds of materials. I also finally leveled up my VOG gear.
-
This is what I've done Almost leveld up factions Loads of engrams for cryptarch rep Exotic bounties ready to turn in Stockpiling motes and shard and glimmer consumables Maxing out all the weapon I want for easy ascension Maxing out my marks to buy weapons/armor

Get all of your factions very close to leveling up then you can get a HOW package when the expansion hits by finishing them off
-
Going through VoG to get the gear I dismantled, leveling up my exotics, and training my team for trials of osiris
-
Fatebringer'a all around. Running the clan through Templar every week. Just one person left in our clan that needs it.

Step 1: realise this is game Step 2: realise that the more "preperation"I. do, the more the rewardable and enjoyable play-time withvsaod dlc decreases Step 3: Continue working my regular 80 hour work week, spend time with the missus, play Destiny in my spare time, enjoy my spare-time playing Destiny immensely, anticipate HoW for what it is, New content in a great game, emphasis on the word game. Step 4: Thank my lucky stars that I realise that Destiny is a hugely enjoyable pastime, but ultimately is a game, and that there is much better objectives in life to focus my mental and physical things to prepare for and enjoy. Step 5: Profit. To be honest this isn't aimed at OP, more so the multitude of posts concerning how much time people spend on a game, however enjoyable, to prepare for a expansion of that game, knowing that the preperation is ultimately shortening the length of time they'll get enjoyment from the game. It's strange

Ive been leveling a pair of legendary gear that I've never been able to wear so I can bump it to the new light level and look a little different for a change. I've mixed and matched to have some pretty nice looking results. Since you don't have to relevel the gear I'm doing it now.
-
I've started leveling gear I haven't in a long time, got some armor sets from FWC on my titan I just finished.

Have all yor factions almost leveled up to the next rank. Also the day before make sure you have bounties done but don't turn them in until how comes so you can rank up instantly and get new dlc gear/weapons. Maxing out on marks. Almost done with the above so I'll make a new character this week. Or stock up on glimmer.

Getting more exotics, still trying to get ghally, no luck. Finishing crota/ vog armor sets, getting to 32 light..... I have a shit ton to do still 😭😭😭 oh and also trying to get a little better at the crucible. Whew.

I'm not doing anything. Sure, you can have your factions ALMOST leveled up. You could save packages. Hell, you could even practice on Crucible to get ready for ToO. But I won't do any of that. 1. I'm getting commendations so I can refund then as Faction XP. 2.I don't get nearly as many packages in a day as I should, and I need shards so I can turn ten in to something when HoW drops. 3. It's gonna be easy regardless.
