By not including matchmaking because you think only pre-made fireteams capable of clearing content, you're stating that you think most of your community are useless assholes.
That right there to me and my friends is true. Countless times did me and one friend did matchmaking strikes and weeklies just to get paired with someone who gets 20-40 kills while we get 80-100+. Then to top it off, they get a legendary or exotic drop. Our backs are hurting and we get no compensation. Tonight, we did 4 strikes with one different random each time and what happened? 131 kills - 157 kill - 40 kills. Another strike 8X kills - 7X kills - 12 kills. Another strike 8X kills - 8X kills - 2X kills. We even bailed on a game where we got paired up with a 32 that had a 1940 card score (player carried through the raid) and had an unupgraded Red Death (302), an unupgraded Light of the Abyss (also base), and a rare rocket launcher that was surprisingly unupgraded as well. I did weekly heroic a few days ago by myself and got 112 kills and the other two got like 30 each. When I do match made strikes by myself, I usually get more kills then the two randoms get put together. I'd be better off with optional matchmaking so I can solo it alone rather than soloing it with other people in the game.
I think it was Monday when I decided to do Summoning Pits for a bounty. Did I do ROC strike? No, I did the lv12 strike because I didn't want to carry someone and end up with nothing while they get a legendary or exotic drop. What happened in my lv12 strike? I got paired with a lv30 and lv31 that stayed at the start dancing over and over till I got to wave 3 at the door and then they came down. What happened with the boss? I basically dropped him solo as they decided to dance and shoot when they felt like it. In the end I had 112 kills and they had 11 and 12.
Personally, I despise randoms and would rather be able to solo everything in this game if I don't have my own friends to play with me. My friends won't even really do match made activities. We have our minds made up that most people are weak sauce. A true optional match making needs to be made but all end game activities such as raids, ToO, and PoE should not have matchmaking ever. It'll just be a huge headache and cause more problems than it will solve.

Never had this happen before. I quit and go back in when I see them being lazy.
-
After I did that a few games in a row, I just say screw it and carry the randoms that don't do anything just to get my bounty done and then I try very hard to find something else to do in the game that isn't matchmaking.
-
Then there are players like me who play the game, and kill things, but will never get into end game content due to no matchmaking. I know but due to the 2008 recession I had to move from the US to Asia for work, and still here. This means finding people here is near not happening. I tried the sites, but nothing. My friends are on Xbox, and though I have a 360 Destiny is on PS3.

If you where on XBox 360, id give you a shot. I added two people from the forum so far and enjoy playing Destiny with them. We mostly only play when we're raiding but I'm pretty stoked to play PoE with them. We're monsters when paired.
-
No problem and thanks for the offer. You are the 3rd person to offer. Everyone has been on 360 though. I just looked up a Southeast Asian clan a few days ago. I'll give them a try too.

This is about the rng system above all else..... The op was about matchmaking.

Edited by XTempistX: 5/9/2015 7:07:38 AMHow so? I stated examples of players that where of level 30+ (end game level) that did not play to the level of end game players (Played like a player on their second week with a matching card score. Kinda like the players in the PoE stream but worse) or where just trolls waiting on free rewards. This is what match making is on this game. I referred to drops twice and now my entire comment is about drops. Come on... One guy was even a 32 with no weapons upgraded with a card score of 1940. I had a score of 23xx when I was 32 for the first time.

I don't understand this mindset of carrying people. If you're getting all the kills, aren't you having all the fun? When I go into a strike, I try to get all the kills. I've put up 180, not because people weren't trying, but because I was decimating everything that walked out a door. It's a game. It's fun. So some don't get a lot of kills, who cares as long as they're trying. The only ones that bother me are the ones who go farm mats while the strike is going on, but Bungie could easily fix that by dropping people for inactivity.

This. As long as my teammates are trying I'm fine. I guffa when I see the score bored.

If you're getting all the kills, aren't you having all the fun?
Not when My friends and I put in loads more effort and the guy next to us does little to help. Even 20 or less assists.
When I go into a strike, I try to get all the kills. I've put up 180, not because people weren't trying, but because I was decimating everything that walked out a door.
I don't try to get all the kills. I just drop whatever is in my way but I do not stop until about 90% of the enemies are dead. If I'm using a legendary auto rifle as usual (with their horrible nerf), a shotgun, and a heavy weapon that only gets used against majors, how am I putting up far greater number than the rest of my team? My time to kill should be crap compared to people using exotic primaries and firing off their heavy every chance they get.
It's a game. It's fun.
The only ones that bother me are the ones who go farm mats while the strike is going on, but Bungie could easily fix that by dropping people for inactivity.
I haven't ran into that. If the enemies start to move in gainst each other, I can promise you that I'll use a glimmer increasing item and go to town till the enemies calm back down. It's not often that they war against each other and its a great time to max out glimmer. My friends and I don't even speak. If they are waring against each other, we go to war as well.

Someone gets it. 90% of the time, lfg groups are awesome. 99% of the time, matchmade players are boneheaded morons who couldn't find their own dick without gps directions.
Someone gets it. 90% of the time, lfg groups are awesome. 99% of the time, matchmade players are boneheaded morons who couldn't find their own dick without gps directions.
Did you make those stats up? No really? Because the point of using stats is to provide some actual factual information to aid a debate or conclusion of a subject. What system did you use to formulate your statistics? Total fail.

No, that's based on my personal experience, along with anecdotal information from the forums. You're welcome to conduct a scientific study into the matter. Assuming you can grow up and stop being a gigantic ass.

Why post if you're just going to be a retard? It's a simple fact. Matchmade players tend to suck.
Why post if you're just going to be a retard? It's a simple fact. Matchmade players tend to suck.
Coming from a Liverpool supporter I can't tell you how much that makes me laugh... Totally fail.lol.

And now you're babbling nonsense. I'm right. You're dumb. Bye bye.
-
i have to disagree with you bud. i find many good players in MM. they even send invites and continue playing the strikes. pretty skilled too.
-
Edited by XTempistX: 5/9/2015 8:02:43 AMI have found 4 people that added me from match making when I started playing. From there their friends started to add me. Then I found two more people three months ago that I added after a very rare (rare on my part as I try to stay away) match made game. Most of my experiences though have been horrible.
-
do you even try to communicate? i have gone into a strike and none have a mic except me. i start talking and more than half the time someone else puts on a mic and is surprised someone is talking. in the end i believe it comes down to who you are. that's what you will attract. so be a positive person and try a bit more to communicate if you wish. you jusst might see a change. also basing there skill and cooperation on numbers is not ideal. they could be focusing solely on the boss and end up with less kills than the team. does not mean though that the player did not play there part. on the contrary he/she was completely focused on the task in situations like these.
-
Edited by XTempistX: 5/9/2015 5:34:11 PMI always have my mic in. I give some strategies and tips as I play. I try to coach the players I get paired with. When I did Will of Crota last night, my friend had 132 kills and I had 127. The random had 40. He got 13% of the total kills. How can anyone say that the player with us had skill? He never used his super at all for that matter while throughout the whole strike, we used it as soon as we where charged. At every part of that strike, he sat in a safe spot while we did most of the work. Even with the boss, we ran out asap and started working on her as he sat in the first room scared to come out. We talked to the guy and didn't cuss or shout. We basically two manned it and got him a legendary engram at the end.

You've concocted a lovely fantasy. It's such a pity that it doesn't match reality.
-
you've grown attached to a "Lovely Fantasy called Destiny" it is such a pity you can not see the truth even if stares at you right in the face. you the know the saying though...."You can't Handle the truth."

Now you've just gone daft.
