When playing control what is your preferred strategy. So far in my experience, I have seen a few different one.
Capture and Hold: Capture and hole 2/3 control zone preferably with a Heavy weapon spawn point between the two zones. Stay relatively close and float back and forth between the captures zones defeating any players trying to steal it. Make sure to have at least 2 lines of sight per captured zone. Don't venture to the "other" side of the make to control the spawn points of the other team.
Continuous Capture Circle: This is when both teams never hold an area after they capture. As soon as you cap one zone its a sprint onto the next. this cycle continuously repeats itself and just turn into a capturing fest of the more circle based maps. This becomes more difficult because it runs the risk of enemies spawning behind you requiring much more attention paid to radar... "Wait people actually use the circle thing in the top left corner of the screen?" Yes, yes we do. And that is why you continually get shot in the back.
Single Zone Hold: I have seen this done a few time but only when you have a very overzealous team versus a hold or campy team. Because of the kill points system of Control, a single zone can win if the team with only one zone gets about 150% more kills than the other team. I can spill out the math around this but gets pretty long and makes some assumptions on assist scoring. But even with one zone you can outscore the other team if they constantly rush you and you have a good group defense.
No caps, just kill: This strategy never seems to win, but occasionally there is that one or two people on a match made team that are just interesting in getting skills and never stop in a zone to help neutralize or capture a zone. They are either just trying to complete certain bounties or just want high kills or a high k/d.
Just curious of what strategy most people prefer and try to practice??

Hey diddle-diddle, straight up the middle.

A Dynamic and continues capture circle. You hold points but you're bound to lose them again. So go back and forth. Most important thing is to hold 2/3 objectives as long as possible. There will always be people going for kills and no captures. Let them gather points while i hold the zones. Best is 2 or 3 capture people and the rest go for kills.

I try to get some kills with a few captures in the middle.
-
I follow the team. Sometimes I'll be a smug little shit and get a sneaky capture when the morons are occupied with trying to shotgun each other.
-
Usually I just find a guy with a bubble, kill him and move into my new bubble
-
I move between capture and hold and the capture circle. Most maps I have two zones I like to hold and I try to stay near the killing field(normally B). I rack up Objectively Correct medals quite often.
-
Kill everything because that's how you win. If you play the objective you're playing the game wrong and you should feel bad.
-
Let enemy hold 3 zones, still win.
-
Let the low lvl people on your team capture the points all you as a lvl 32+ need to worry about is the kills
-
I run for the closest point and after every one leaves to take the next I pull out my tent. I start a small fire and wait for something to show up on the radar. I quietly put out the fire and get real low. Switch to my shot gun and wait to pounce. Like a tiger! With a sleeping bag!

When I first played control I didn't realize how it worked and would circle capture. Fortunately that was in the first month of Destiny and most people didn't have any strategy. Now I'm all about the 2 points and hold. I like the multiplayer but it's tough, because I don't play with a group. Play crucible and you get a lot of players who don't no what they're doing which gets you a high KD but your team does things like grab heavy before people running to them can get close or capping strategically weaker points. IB you get people who know what they're doing(generally) but your more likely to run into a coordinated group which is difficult to beat with randoms.

Depends on the map. On Rusty, I almost never move away from C Base once it's captured. I arm with an AR, sniper and heavy machine gun. I have in the past defended that zone for the whole game, only getting killed when I'm rushed by a pack. On Shores, it's capture C and B then hold both from a position near the big boulder. Blind watch is also C and B, using the tactics you describe, as is the Shrine.
