Good news and bad news for Destiny players as Xur would no longer sell the Gjallarhorn rocket launcher but he would sell the Hawkmoon in its place if the reports and rumors are to be believed.
The Gjallarhorn rocket launcher is considered to be the best weapon for boss fights in Destiny and rightfully so as it is the one of the weapons that is capable of turning any nightfall strike or raid boss into a joke.
And now it seems that Bungie would look into making the Gjallarhorn more difficult to obtain by removing it from Xur's inventory thus making the Gjallarhorn to be obtainable via drops or lucky engram decryption only.
An alleged Bungie employee took to 4Chan and had an "ask me anything" session on video games or /v/ board of the popular image board website.
The alleged Bungie employee admitted that the Gjallarhorn is meant to be a "boss killing" weapon and that the game's balance would be put in jeopardy if they make that weapon available for purchase via Xur and every one would have access to the pound-for-pound best boss killing weapon in the game.
He noted that a the number of Nightfall and Weekly heroic strikes that were finished went up when they sold the Ice Breaker recently and that they've concluded that the difficulty of the game was lessened when Xur sold the Ice Breaker. He stressed that they can't make it available to everyone because the difficulty of the game would drop dramatically if everyone had Ice Breakers and Gjallahorn.
The alleged Bungie employee then told them that they can't nerf the two weapons either as any nerfs to them would make them borderline useless and not feel as unique to compared to other legendaries and exotics in the game. Plus they know that gamers who have these items already wouldn't like it if the nerfed the weapons.
But the good news is that Bungie is allegedly going to add the Hawkmoon and the Vex Mythoclast into Xur's inventory and that they're looking into separating the Playstation and Xbox One Xur inventory thus allowing the PS4 users to buy the Hawkmoon without Xbox One users being able to get it or vice versa. This also means that the Hawkmoon could finally appear on the Xbox ahead of the PS4 "exclusivity" timer expiration of the weapon.
Me myself... I have both Gjallahorn and Icebreaker, I agree with this discussion
I am an Xbox 360 User unfortunently
