My sentiments exactly. Story not only changed established canon, but even if you looked at it as it's own isolated story it still wasn't good. The plot holes were huge and on the mulitplayer side of things it introduced armour abilities and loadouts, which carried into Halo 4. Most of it's multiplayer maps were terrible as well.
