Ability to block bullets
False! Lightsabers can not block or redirect bullets since they are physical. They might be able to melt incoming bullets so a jedi or sith trying to block bullets from a squad of UNSC Marines or Squad of Spartans will force the jedi or sith to switch up their strategy or maybe even death. Even if they can melt the bullets, the bullets needs to hit the blade(since the blade doesn't gives off heat) and they will need to be fast to maneuver their lightsaber to the right position which i don't think they can be that fast since a barrage of bullets of from Assualt Rifles and SMGs with a even faster rate of fire.
Lightsabers (most powerful weapon in the Galaxy)
Most powerful MELEE weapon. A lightsaber will beat a Energy Sword but it is not the most powerful weapon in the galaxy if it can't protect the user (jedi or not) from Metal bullets. Those are the only to reasons you gave me. You brung Han Solo out of no where, and you gave the other two without explaining why. Give me details about the last two and I will verify if they are formidable.

  • Even if they arent fast enough to n lock all the bullets (whitch they are) they could use the force to redirect the bullets back at their enimy And their blade is hot enough to melt solid steel so they could definitely beat halo

  • A jedi is not fast enough. The average speed of a blaster bolt is about 78 mph -100mph. Way slower than a high velocity bullet so a jedi can block a blaster bolt easily but a bullet that is unblockable will extremely difficult especially that when a bullet hits the blade and melts, the molten metal will hit the lightsaber wielder.

  • Forst of all the speed of a blaster bolt? Really? Its a freakin beam of extreme heat. In order to keep that heat it needs to retain a high velocity. Waaaay faster than a bullet. And even if blaster bolts were slower the jedi can use the force to push the bullets away It would actually be easier for a jedi to block bullets because they are solid objects which can be influenced by the force unlike blaster bolts

  • In most cases blaster bolts move slower than bullets. Most firearms generally fire a round at about 720mph. The speed of sound is 762mph (roughly). So in actuality the sound of the shot firing reaches you an instant before the bullet does. There are weapons that fire at faster than sound though. We have high caliber rifles that can fire bullets at super-sonic speed, roughly between 900-1300mph, a bit shy of mach 2. Then we have Rail Guns which can fire projectiles around Mach 7. But those're big, Naval Ship mounted guns.(Modern Ships) A blaster is not a laser so it does not go very fast (speed of light), instead they fire a bolt of focused high energy particle beam. A common blaster is plasma based. meaning it fired a superheated, ionized gas.

If u ever watch star wars the clone wars they talk about the blasters being the same speed as light so yeah blasters are faster Plus youre thinking of the terms of halo when it comes to physics remember that this is also in a different galaxy with different physical properties

  • If blasters were light speed. It would be 100% impossible to block. Since the Jedi wouldn't even see or have any time to react to it. Do you even know the speed of light? Lmao.

  • Blasters doesn't shoot laser beams so they can not travel at the speed of light. Blasters fire particle beam which doesn't fire at the speed of light and is somewhat slower than what you keep implying. Lots of people get confused that a blaster shoots laser beams but it doesn't.

  • But its not based on our physics its based on george Lucases interpretation of the idea. He made the blaster bolts the same speed as light they even say so in the show so im going with that. Besides blasters are far more advanced than bullets so thats another thing And yes i know its based on a long time ago but remember its also a different galaxy so completely different physics

  • You need to give me proof that it was said on the movie/show because I watched every movie and show and I'm adamant that it was never mentioned.

  • I think its season 3 of star wars the clone wars idk exactly what episode. But the setting is a clone trooper (i think cody) talking to a geoup of new troops about battle. Thats when he mentions the speed of blaster bolts being almost the speed of light

  • Just watched episodes 1 and 2 of season 3 (where clone cadets were on Kamino) and there was no mention of blasters speeds
