First of all i'll start by saying I love you Bungie for bringing Halo and Destiny to life, 2 of the greatest games/franchises i have ever played. I have spent over 500 hours on Destiny. But there is something i would like to ask about Destiny. How does the loot drop system work and is it based on anything in game? Right now i need Thunderlord and Gjallarhorn to complete my exotic weapon collection (not counting Fate of All Fools). While writing this, i think i'm around 560 hours of playing this game. But one of my friends after 523 hours of playing (i think) managed to loot his third Gjallarhorn, not counting that he already had 3 Thunderlords. And he looted his second and third Gjallarhorn in 2 does both on Crota, in front of my face! Especially that in neither of the parts where he got it did he actually earn it. Considering those are 2 of the most OP exotics, I kind of wonder if it's even rare or if it's Rngesus that just hates me.
Also another story was during Crota Deathsingers. I had to go afk for the whole thing except when you had to kill a couple of knights. And i manage to loot Patience and Time (I then got it again in VOG Gorgon chest so it's a minimum legit). That led me to come up with this theory:"Destiny's loot system reward those who don't do nothing", that was proved a lot of times after (but also dis-proved, if that makes sense).
To end this, I love you Bungie for bringing this excellent game and i can't wait for future games.coming from you. I'm not asking for a Gjallarhorn, not asking for a Thunderlord nor a Fate of All Fools, not asking for anything. Just an answer to these 2 questions:-On what is based the loot system for it to decide what loot to give to who
-If the loot system was to be changed to be based on what the guardian did during the battle, would it be good or bad and explain?
