So... I'm getting a little fed up with the Random Number Generator system, with raids expecially. I'm sure there's thousands of people with this same concern, but I just want to share my story.
It all started a few weeks ago on Vault of Glass. My friends and I had all yet to get the wondrous Vex Mythoclast. So after a bit of an absence from doing so, we started doing the raid on hard on a weekly basis. It started out just as normal, none of us got anything special, until one day, the day that started this streak of RNG pain. One Wednesday my friends decided to do VoG hard, this wasn't our normal raid day and I was unable to play due to homework. Anyway, they went ahead and got some people together and did the raid, at the Templar, one friend got Fatebringer, and was the first of us to get that, then, at Atheon, BOTH of my friends got Vexes, BOTH! The one time I didn't play VoG. But getting away from my own suffering, back to the real problem. We have done VoG hard three other times since then and guess what has happened, my other friend, not the one that got Fatebringer, has gotten Vexes every time. 4 VEXES IN A ROW! I also got something four times in a row, Timebreaker and ascendant materials. Besides a Hard Light and a duplicate Monte Carlo from the exotic chest, ascendants and Timebreaker is all I have gotten, four times in a row.
Now I'm not saying I want to be given a Vex Mythoclast, no I'll continue to do VoG hard until I get it. I'm just thinking that Bungie should consider adding a system that stops things like this from happening. My idea is a system that prevents a player that has already gotten an item, preferably only items like raid gear since duplicate exotics are good for shards, from getting that item again on the same character from the same event. Then the chance of them getting the item would be given back to players that haven't gotten it, increasing the chance of someone getting it for the first time, and eliminating someone from getting a duplicate raid item.
Also another thing that one of my friends had an idea about was adding the ability to dismantle things like ships, sparrows, shaders, emblems, ect. and get some kind of material back. Currently if you scrap a ship or sparrow or anything besides a weapon or armor, you don't get anything, it just deletes it. It would make sense to get at least glimmer back from destroying a ship or sparrow. This would come in extremely handy for people like me who only seem to get ships or sparrows from raids.
