Since the beginning of Destiny, Guardians have been swearing their allegiances to the Factions in the Tower. They were once much more powerful, but have since subsided to fragments of what they once were.
The Factions are more than what meets the eye. They are constantly looking for Pre-Golden Age Technology to further push forward in their campaigns.
Although the Factions were originally meant to be for Crucible play- I think we've been using them for more than that.
- Guardians wear Faction Emblems during Nightfall and Weekly Heroic activities for reputation boosts.
- Guardians wear Faction Emblems during Patrol Missions for reputation.
The Factions have mysterious Grimoire Cards, and say some notably strange things. Many of us look past their weapons and armor and delve deeper into the lore to learn what they are after.
- Dead Orbit is trying to flee Earth. In hopes to find a new planet to start anew.
- New Monarchy is trying to liberate the people, and restore government.
- Future War Cult is trying to stand their ground and push back The Darkness.
Granted, this is a summary of what they intend to do. If only it were that simple...
I want more from The Factions.
I want Faction Quests.
Here are my thoughts on this.
_____________________________________
- New Monarchy, Dead Orbit, and Future War Cult offer 3-5 mini Story Quests that unlock as you progress through their ranks.
- Rank 3 unlocks the first quest, Rank 5 the second- so on and so fourth.
- Each mini quest offers a rather simple task. Open some doors here, kill some enemies there- retrieve a Golden Age relic or kill a mini-boss- Mission Complete.
- These missions, Similar to Eris' Quests, are guided by the Faction Leaders themselves. As you play through Jalaal, Lakshmi, and Hideo will talk to you as you play through the story, and tell you what you're doing and why you're doing it.
- After you complete the 3-5 mini story quests (which will grant you reputation and possibly other rewards), you will eventually be offered a larger Story Mission.
- Completing this final Strike-Like Mission will grant you a large amount of reputation, and a special reward.

-FINAL STORY EXAMPLE-
-You've risen in the ranks of The Future War Cult, and have been granted access to the well kept secret that is The Time Machine.
- Lakshmi has found a way to use this Machine, along with the powers of a Vex Time Gate, and allow you to essentially travel through time for short periods. If you stay too long, you can go mad, or even become lost in time.
- You are asked to return to The Battle of The Twilight Gap, and help defend The City from The Darkness.
- You fight off tough waves of enemies for some time, but once Guardians move to a new location, Lakshmi directs you elsewhere.
- You are told to pursue a Fallen Leader, who in the future, will cause great devastation to The City and The Tower alike. A crippling blow will be dealt if you don't deal with it now.
- He is managing to salvage a piece of very important Golden Age Technology.
- You find this Fallen Leader, and fight him in Strike-like fashion.
- You defeat The Fallen, and claim the Golden Age Technology.
- You rush back to the hidden Time Gate and are welcomed with a Mission Complete.
- Special Rewards Granted.

Adding something like this would really help stretch out Destiny's Story- something that everyone would benefit from. If you like this idea, please leave a "Bump" and state your personal opinion on the idea please!
Thanks again, Guardians.

Originally they planned and scoped out faction missions and dialog interactions with the characters in the tower. They were all supposed to play a bigger side story role, but like the main story, lots got cut.
