Bungie is probably going to have xur sell them instead of the weapon/armor upgrades he has now. All the space in his inventory should
be of significant use. Also, what use are
strange coins in HoW for day one players?

I wish I could click "Like" on this more than once! Xur needs to sell Vanilla guns! That would be amazing. It would give us something more to look forward to each Friday. Bungie please do this!

Probably? This would be cool considering I was not playing destiny at that time. Couple buddies have swam and it would be a nice catch.
