Shadows of Mordor didn't live up to hype, very nice dialogue and gameplay but story sucked balls.

Yea the story was pretty small but it has a nice engine and agree with dialogue

There was no hype for SoM, in fact it was expected to suck. Check out the majority of the reviews around release date, they all say it was so much better than anyone was anticipating. The Nemesis system is also the best gaming innovation in a long time.

This game did have a lot of hype around it, obviously not as much as games like Destiny and fair enough I can agree the nemesis system is great, gameplay is great, but my point still stands about the story, it's only problem really.

To date, my favorite storyline in any game had been the Tiny Tina DLC. I think that was beat by one of the early witcher ones.

I haven't got too far yet, only got to the part where you join the baron to get his wife back (if you chose that path).

Yeah, cuz story is so obviously the most important thing in a game. The main campaign was lackluster, yes, but I found it much more fun to create a story out of my biggest nemesis, and that's what I was really hyped about. Combine that with the excellent gameplay, and you have a fantastic game.

The final battle of shadow of mordor pissed me off because of how anti climactic it was.

LOTR games are great. Really enjoyed War In The North. Level 40. Anyways, shadow of Mordor is great too.
