So, lemme give you a bit of background. I'm a launch player and I put a good amount of time into this game. Between my three characters I have about 500-600 hours logged on Destiny and that's before I took a break. I got to that point that most people come to when you play a lot of Destiny and I decided in January that I would chill for a while and maybe come back when House of Wolves came around. So today's really the first day I've legitimately played Destiny since January and I thought, you know, I'll start with some Iron Banner to get back into the flow of things. Now, I just came from Bloodborne so I could barely even slide, and, inevitably, I get my ass handed to me. 0.41 K/D I think it was - mind you I was usually top of the leaderboards in my prime Destiny days - and what do I see in the end-of-the-match ticker on the bottom left? Ghallarhorn. So I'm like "god damn some dude got really lucky" - because in aaaaaaaaaaaaaall my time playing Destiny and raiding and Nightfalling and Striking and Crucibling and Iron Bannering, never had I gotten a Ghallarhorn. But who got that Jellyhorn? Out of all the players who spanked me and danced on my Dinkle, of all people... me. GODDAMMIT! The one situation I didn't want a Ghally to pop up by my name, it does. And hey, I'm an honorable player. I think good players deserve good rewards and not so great players need a new toy once in a while to help keep 'em going, but I'm a seasoned vet, dammit. I've taken the entire hard raid down (save for Crota) multiple times. I've carried trash teams through entire games of Crucible by myself. I've legitimately two-manned in the Vault of Glass. That's when you don't need that "loser luck" that people often get so angry about, but that's what I got. So I've come to you for guidance. What am I to do? Do I keep this Ghally as a trophy for all I've done in this game so far? Or do I dismantle it for not earning it through feats of might? I leave the decision to you. I'll let you decide whether I should keep or dismantle ol' Crota Crusher; and whichever has the most votes by May 3rd at 10:00 pm, I'll carry out that order. And feel free to speak your mind on the whole concept of "earning" things and "loser's luck" and all that fun stuff. I'd love to hear what you have to say.
