I applaud to this initiative, think it's great.
The only thing is that, if I was to order the T-shirt, I would have to pay about $40 to get it to Europe. Well sorry, but no. I rather donate the whole amount to an aid organisation so all of that money gets to go to Nepal (or at least most of it).
In another forum post people mentioned that Bungie should sell the shader & emblem separate, so there is no P&P and less costs (so more to go to Nepal). I think that is a great idea and would buy some as soon as they become available.
Who's with me on this one?
EDIT0: Of course, when you really want to help, donate through a charity organisation like the ones below. I don't mean to say that this is the best/only way to support those in Nepal.
EDIT: Like GbrownBear said: share some links

EDIT2:
If you just want to donate, try for example: https://www.redcross.org/combined-donate?donationProdId=prod9150029&campname=donateNepalEarthquake&campmedium=aspot_dis16
And, like xrayjosh said, there are more:
Domestically Salvation Army
Save the Children
Oxfam
Global Giving
EDIT3:
Some more thx to xrayjosh, and I quote:
" [i]https://www.redcross.org/donate/0415-h?flow=oc1&campmedium=aspot_dis16&campname=donateNepalEarthquake&donationProdId=prod9150029
Here's a link that has some good charities actively participating in the earthquake striken area:

They all look good and i've heard of all but one personally

Agree. You should just sell the shader. I'm not paying 40 for a tea shirt when I just want to donate. I'll donate through apples App Store instead. Nice idea tho...
-
I think large companies such as Bungie (any many others) jumping on the "lets help Nepal" bandwagon is disgusting. If you want to help, then go help...marketing and merchandise is not to admirable IMO

Edited by P3rfectEnemy: 5/1/2015 3:32:32 PMWow that sucks man. I bought it but it cost me only $5. I agree with your solution! Please pass this up the line Deej this is a good plan!

Ughhh ur so lost If people want to donate rhey can do so themselves Dont take stuff from people, sell it back to them, donate the money and call urself a hero Its disgusting Donate your own money
-
Buying a shirt? Anyone who does that is paying to stoke their ego. Donate through an organization that doesnt divert money to things like printed shirts so more of your money goes to Nepal. If the concern is real people dont need shirts/shader/keychains/blankets to wear like a kindergarten sticker
-
You do realise 100% of the proceeds go to the various foundations.
-
Donate to the red cross They have a great aid to donation ratio and have tons of oversight
-
Just bungie milking more players but using current events to do so now since some are getting smart and wont let them do it through the dlc instead.
-
That shader looks really lame
-
Plus 1 for shader and emblem w/o shirt
-
I think this community will find any excuse to bitch.

-
That moment when you're to poor to donate...:(
-
Go with a known charity that has a good track record. For nepal i would suggest Red Cross. You want the highest percentage of money you give to actually go to the affected disaster zones, not get caught in "administrative fees". Domestically Salvation Army is always one of the very best to give to. Save the Children Oxfam Global Giving Just to name a few. If you want to donate, donate. no need to buy shirts and shit with overhead costs that cut into the money you are giving.

Are you by any chance, oh, I don't know......
Retarded?
Edited by SnowBodhi: 5/1/2015 1:34:47 PMYes, but did you ACTUALLY donate?
-
I started this last night over the very same problem.... https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/118755444/0/0 Give it some support and Bungie might take note! Come on Guardians - the people of Nepal need the money more than UPS!
-
Where can I find this?
-
Is the shader cool?
-
Edited by TheFrozenInferno: 5/1/2015 1:36:03 PMTo get a shirt here in Canada I'm looking at $30 shipping, and with all costs and currency exchange I'd be looking at $75 on my end with a fraction of that actually making it to Nepal and the majority going to UPS. Save shipping and manufacturing, and just sell me the shader and emblem for $25. That way every penny goes to Nepal and not the shipping companies.
-
This is guardians who are too cheap to donate 25 bucks but still want the vanity items. I just donated and the shipping is extra. The shirt can't cost more then a couple bucks. So instead of texting 10 bucks to Red Cross Bungie is doing this basically for 20 and we get a shirt and a couple cool items we can lord over our clanmates and feel good about it in multiple ways.
-
Bump, I'd do it.
-
if i decide to donate i wont do it via destiny lol
-
I'll sell you my shader for $40
-
Kinda off topic, if they sold micro transaction shader packs for like $2.99 for 10 shaders, I'd buy them. Call of duty did it for exo skins, why can't bungie?
