I didn't think this needed to be said, but I've seen enough posts to warrant this.
Leave Veterans, of any war, out of your posts unless you are paying respects. We are not jokes. We are not comment fodder. We actually have served, fought, and many died so you can live as you want. Show us enough respect to do that please.
Sincerely, USAF Veteran.
EDIT: To all the veterans of any branch, thank you for your service and comments. To everyone else who supports them, I would like to personally thank you. And to the few who found bait in this, shame on you.

90% of veterans dont give a damn what is said or written. We fought for freedom and thay includes a freedom of speech, so say what you want. If words can hurt you then maybe you're just too weak. We have our brothers that we served with no matter what branch. Ive worked with AF Army NG and the Navy. We all did and do our part.

Whoa there chair force, you mind that sass mouth.

Veteran here. Never experienced anything but positive feedback. Minor joking about different branches is hardly offensive. Thanks to all veterans for signing a blank check to the government to do as they wish with you. I have been on teams with Coast Guard, Army, Marines, Airforce, and Navy. We all selected a branch for different reasons, but we still served. I am thankful that I made the choice. Maybe if everyone went to boot camp after high school, it would build instant character. I'm not saying everyone should enter the service, but 9-12 weeks of boot camp does wonders for your attitude . Play on fellow vets, and thanks again. I know it has shaped the way I treat people.

I served 12 years in the British army, 2 Para to be precise. We're not "heroes". Yes we fought and yes people died but that doesn't make anything any of us do "heroic". If you do believe that then you never saw combat. Ask a combat veteran how "heroic" he feels, for me personally, I couldn't sleep properly for 2 years after leaving. The only hero in our house is my wife, without her i'd have been a wreck. People don't owe us anything. If they want to make jokes then they make jokes. Do what I do, joke with them.

I'm a vet as well and I can honestly say I've never seen any post even about vets. Where are you getting this?
-
Don't they teach you in the military to stop being so sensitive
-
I've never seen anyone rip on vets?
-
There the pussies flying around while ground troops are eating shit and asking for seconds
-
Nobody was calling themselves a military veteran. Being a veteran is not an exclusive term for retired members of the military. I suggest that you invest in a dictionary.
-
God Bless you and America

Well said brother! I just recently got out, I was in the Marines though and did one tour of duty in Afghan. 2011-2015 Big shoutout to all my fellow veterans alike whether your OIF OEF or neither we all served in some way. If you need someone to play with here or if your looking for a clan to wreck with message me. Your never alone!

One of the few posts I'll acknowledge as realistic and show my respects. Need more posts like this on bungie forums, I mean no disrespect to vets and their losses but some kinda real life is a refresher on here vs nerf this / no raid/ I quit. Thank you for your duty sirs. Keep on keeping on

Edited by JayceeRrrr: 5/1/2015 5:31:37 AMPersonally, I think the troops who have experienced actual conflict/direct enemy fire deserve our respect. If you're sitting comfortably in an office or ship or base, that doesn't deserve the respect that people have died engendered. Let's face it, most people join the military or service for selfish reasons.

I'm only in the USAF Reserves, but I want to give a shout out and a huge thanks to all those serving or retired. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to your country (this goes beyond just U.S.). You guys were the reason I enlisted, and without you I wouldn't be where I am today. #Salute #Respect

I completely respect everything you have said here. But I don't think people meant disrespect by using the term "veteran" it's just something you say when someone has done something for a long time.. Just a though.
-
Maybe the marines dont understand respect... but i hear you brother. Usaf are the smartest of the bunch on any note. Dont worry about the down syndrome recruits in the marines. ;) they dont appreciate security forces apparently. Maybe they should secure and supply their own drop points? Lol its the usaf that gives you the intel you need hyper jocks.
-
Wow... people are hating on vets? This country is full of traitorous bastards and ungrateful children. Wish we were like sparta... then maybe they'd appreciate what has been done for them.
-
Respect my man. People don't understand how lucky they are to be protected the way we are. Gonna take a guess and say it's either the younger generation (mine as a 22 year old), dumb ass hippies, or crack heads/drunks. Majority of my generation is an embarrassment but there are ppl out there like me that respect the hell out of those who serve our country. Screw the haters (would use a different word there if kids didn't read this lol)

As a Marine Corps vet... I really don't care what some POS on the internet says about me or any other veteran. I don't need respect from anyone on the internet, especially a game forum. This isn't elementary school, if someone doesn't like me and wants to mock me for my service go for it. There was no reason for this thread.
-
I agree with you but I have not seen one post making fun of veterans. I think your just looking for attention.
-
..............

Of course it would be a AF veteran would would say something stupid like that. You were in more danger crossing the street than anytime in your enlistment.
-
This isn't just a American game. It's worldwide, and a lot people don't like us.
-
Just a guy that did a job. Nothing heroic about that. Most days I'd take combat over 4 kids. Less stress. Military spouses are the real heroes anyhow.
