Edited by Jack: 5/1/2015 12:44:16 AMAgnostic atheism, or agnostic theism? Just saying you are an agnostic does not mean anything. You can be agnostic about puppies, kittens, fairies etc.
-
I don't believe in any religion. I don't. But if any solid evidence were to come for Christianity or any other religion I would accept it. I have always felt open to the idea of a higher power, but think that exact ideas on what they want and everything is pretty much bull. How do you know? Who told you? I just don't believe specific religions are correct because back hen it was just an explanation for the unknown, so you didn't need to fear
-
What you described is not agnosticism, it's atheism.
-
No it's not. Atheism is no God at all. You won't ever accept a religion, and that there is no religion
-
No, that would be more like an anti-theist, someone who completely rejects the idea, but basically no one would refuse evidence. Atheist simply means "without God" no where in that word does it say "irrational rejection of evidence" that would basically make us the people we are trying to stay so far away from.
-
What I described is my belief. Why do you care
-
I always care when someone is incorrect.
-
I have the same views, making me an agnostic deist. There may be a higher power, may not be but I highly doubt that any religion is right as none of them can be proven either false or true, but I accept the people who believe in them because who knows one of them could be true if evidence was found without the use of the religious books from that religion. For example, trying to prove the Christian God and the bible with the bible is like trying to prove that dragons are real with a book on dragons
This is my belief
-
Good for you.
-
You'll see that below
-
It's. Not. Incorrect. Then define being agnostic. Another gentleman stated his belief to me, and I agreed completely

Thank oh, exactly. I respect all religions, except the over absurd ones like Scientology(i mean come on) but most of them have some good beliefs or guidelines, and if it keeps people civilized and good acting then let them believe in it, I don't need a God for that
-
I don't believe in any religion. I don't. But if any solid evidence were to come for Christianity or any other religion I would accept it.
I would not be afraid to guess that a huge majority of atheists would identify with this exact statement.
-
I'm agnostic not atheist. Open to religion not totally hating everything about it
-
If you think that's what atheism is then you are wrong. Do you believe in god?
-
Usually atheists are super proud and loud about there beliefs, they always have given me a bad vibe
-
They can be, so can churches and preachers. That doesn't make them bad people. An atheist is simply someone with the lack of a belief in a deity, they do not claim to know god does not exist. I am an agnostic atheist, in my opinion a god could exist because we cannot know either way. But since the burden of proof is on the theistic claims, it is illogical to believe in them until that burden is met. as of now, it has not been met.
-
Well that's annoying, writing atheism as a tag and testing me on my agnosticism
-
Why is that annoying? Here's what i'm trying to get across. Agnosticism is a position of knowledge, not a position of belief. You have to clarify if you do not believe but ultimately do not know. That's what you sound like to me, or do believe in god, but ultimately do not know if he exists or not.
-
But I just don't get why you would put that tag and then all of a sudden be agnostic
-
Edited by Jack: 5/1/2015 3:13:19 AMAgnosticism is not a position regarding religion. Thats why. I am an agnostic atheist. You share the exact same beliefs as almost every agnostic atheist yet refuse to call yourself an atheist. Why is that?
-
When did I say I'm not? I don't have a religion, but those are my ideals. The reason I'm not an atheist is because I don't care for the concept as much as everyone else. Being an atheist seems to make People constantly thinking about the ideal, where I don't give a darn. I can live a normal life instead of wondering about something unimaginable. I may be exactly as you said, but if you see the other conversation I was in you'll see we agree pretty fast
-
That's what i'm saying, we agree on everything. So shouldn't we have the same "label" I hate that term but couldn't think of a better one right now.
-
Edited by Jack: 5/1/2015 2:18:48 AMI don't believe in any religion either. Exactly, if any credible evidence could be provided I would accept it, and so would science. I am open to the idea, but until it can actually be demonstrated it just remains an idea. Atheist do not claim that God does not exist, they reject the claim that one does exist because theist have not met their burden of proof. I do not know if God does or doesn't exist, but you can only believe or not believe in a god, there isn't an in between.
