It doesn't matter if it's a shit answer or not. Creationism gives a distinct answer to why, Evolutionism gives a distinct answer to how.
The simple form of what I said is
"You can't debate against something that doesn't even answer the same question."
It seems a lot of people in all the debates I see, don't realize that.

Well some of us care whether or not that answer is true.

It doesn't matter if you think it's an unfulfilling answer. It is still an answer. You may think that you need more for it to be a viable answer, but you don't.
-
You may think that you need more for it to be a viable answer, but you don't.
why do we bother with science at all if we can just say "god did it" and call it a day and go home?
-
That is your choice. If you want to do that, go right ahead.
-
Well apparently that works for you, so...

I'm non-religious

i dont believe you. you dont believe in god, yet you think "god did it" is a sufficient answer to a scientific question? lol

Edited by RichardSalad: 5/1/2015 2:08:38 AMI'm non-religious. I said that "God did it" is answer to why because it is a simplified form of what most Christians will tell you if you ask them why the universe exists. Example: Evolution: Why is there a universe? I don't know. How are people as they are today? Because there was a need to adapt and evolve to meet our conditions on earth. Creation: Why is there a universe? God made a universe because he was lonely and wanted a companion made in his likeness to spend eternity with. How are people as they are today? I don't know. "God did it" is as much an answer to why, as "because Evolution" is to how.
Evolution: Why is there a universe? I don't know.
evolution doesnt cover the origin of the universe...
-
And that is why evolution cannot answer the question of why. I have been trying to explain this.
-
science can explain why. just not when you use evolution to try to explain why the universe began. that's like using a ruler to measure the temperature, yiour using the wrong tool.
-
Science can make a reasonable explanation for the universe, yes, but that's not what this thread is about, is it?
-
Science can make a reasonable explanation for the universe, yes,
you were just saying it couldnt
-
No, I said evolution can't. If you think that all science consists of evolution then I have some news for you...
it doesn't
Edited by Jack: 5/1/2015 3:55:50 AMWho cares what the thread is about, just accept that he made a good point.

He does make a good point and I acknowledge it but I was talking specifically about evolution not science in general.
