My friend and I have been best buds for 25 years, since second grade. We grew up together, were College roommates, and still communicate a couple times a week. A couple years ago his six month old was diagnosed with cancer. The news was devastating, and his life would forever change.
That was two years ago, and the cancer is in remission. However, the fight doesn't end there and the toll of chemo had some negative affects on his son's body.
My friend doesn't have the availability to hang out, his free time is limited and usually only after his son has gone to bed. The one thing we can do is play online. I told my friend about Destiny and how it would be a perfect game for us to play together. After he saved the money he went out and purchased it.
The thing we didn't know was, we can't play together because he has a PS3 and I have a PS4. I've already spent $150 on the game, expansion, ps+ membership. I can't sink another $50 to get the game on PS3. He doesn't have the money for a PS4 either.
I can only assume that Bungie, in a deliberate move to spite fathers of kids with Cancer, limits Cross-Play. To make sure their goal was absolute, they make the digital download file good for only one system. I still have my PS3 and would gladly hook it up to play with my bud.
Bungie, Why do you hate Families of kids with Cancer?
